It struck me that, since it's all right for us to link to images within the eharlequin community pages but not elsewhere, maybe I should upload the old smilies from our old community pages, and then we could put them here without causing any major problems or breakdowns. What does everyone think of that? Anybody else want our old :goofy: :confused: :eek: and :ooh:? (Of course, I'm not sure if this is going to work.......)

I like the new smilies but I
I like the new smilies but I really liked the old ones too. I liked that I could just type :eek: :confused: etc. and they would show up anywhere. I'm having trouble with posting unless I used enable rich-text so there is no smilie box to choose smilies. I don't know how to code them in. I'm not very good at that. So, I have no smilies. I would love to just go back to typing in the word to get my smilie.

The reason why...
...the techies didn't want us using outside images, especially animated gifs (sorry Christa!), is that too many can cause the boards to crash. It also causes the threads to load more slowly, especially for those of us who still use dial-up. However, using an inside still image should be all right. We should check with the techies first, though, through the kind offices of our wonderful hosties.
