Saturday's newspaper from Saint John, New Brunswick (The Telegraph Journal) had a half page obituary for the Harlequin author Flora Kidd. Ms Kidd died March 19 of this year. She wrote 64 romance books published by Mills and Boon and subsequently by Harlequin. She was born in 1926 in England and emigrated to Canada in 1967. She is survived by her husband Robert and her sons Pat and Richard and 11 grandchildren.
I remember reading Ms. Kidd's novels as a teenager and in fact the first Harlequin I ever bought for myself was by her - Harlequin Romance #1503 - My Heart Remembers. I grew up not too far from Saint John and as a teenager was amazed that one of my favourite authors was living so close by. I will remember her

Oh, thank you for posting ....
I read Flora Kidd's books too when I was a teenager .... I just checked my book list, and sadly I only have one book of hers, it's a Presents from 1981
when I'm at the UBS I'll look out for some of her books and be sure to pick some up
born in 1926, sounds like Flora had a long and remarkable life .... 11 grandkids is quite a family ... she published from 1966 to 1989, and 64 books is also quite an accomplishment
thanks for letting us know, Linda
