I just realized how brilliant Lorie is! Of course, it goes to show just how slow I am.
I mean, the theme for this month's challenge is "It's Raining Men"... and the old saw about "April showers bring May flowers"... I just got it!
So, when I first got the email I thought... uh, I can't do this challenge! This actually goes back to the "I've gotta think? About what I'm reading?" when I first joined the 2007 10,000 Book Challenge. I found that it's definitely not as hard as I had thought it would be... and I really did enjoy the opportunity to really think about the books I read.
For this month I was planning to do a self-set challenge based on something that Sadhbh said either the end of February or sometime in March about reading books in series. Well, that one really appealed to me, 'cause I have a LOT of books on my TBR shelves that are part of series. And then I started thinking that, actually, this month's It's Raining Men challenge would actually fit quite well with my own challenge, so that's what I'm doing.
Now part of the challenge is "...if you were casting a movie of this book, who would play the hero?" Well, usually I cannot pick a real person to play a character that I see in my mind for anything... but as I was searching for yummy guys to play the part of LL's Wolfe from Wolfe's Hope and Kiowa from Coyote Breeds: Soul Deep I chanced upon a website that is chock full of pictures of male cover models and actors. Well, to be honest I've not heard of many, if any, of them... but the pictures... wow! They sure do justice to some of my imagined heroes... and HOW! So, if some of the names that I pick seem to come out of thin air... nope, they come from there.
But don't say anything to my 15 year old daughter...she's got this idea that just because I'm happily married that I can't look... uh, riiiiiight ~ I'll be waiting!
SO... of course I'm sure that the bright people here have already determined that yes, I'm reading from series and the first series that I'm reading from ~ the books that I hadn't read yet anyways ~ is Lora Leigh's Breeds series. But not just one type of Breeds, any of them... and holy cow! With the last two books that I read, Jacob's Faith and Aiden's Charity, there are obviously more Breeds yet to be dealt with... at least I dearly hope to see more of some of these guys: Del Rey, Hawke, Keegan, Cian... see what I mean? The names themselves are super-duper!
The last book in my TBR to be read in LL's Feline Breed series is Dawn's Awakening. Once I'm done that I have:
- Lora Leigh's Tempting SEALS
- Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld series
- Christine Rimmer's Bravo Family Ties
- Lara Adrian's Midnight Breeds
- Mary Balogh's Simply series
- MaryJanice Davidson's Undead series
- Lynsay Sands' Argeneau Family
- Laura Anne Gilman's Retrievers
- Sunny's Mona Lisa / Monére series
- Lori Handeland's Nightcreature series
- Jim Butcher's Dresden Files
I'm sure that there are more, but these are the ones that I remembered.... Um, I'm a bit of a series addict, I guess you could say.

Family Challenge Team: The Spine Breakers with my dh Glenn AKA Phaedrus
I think that's why I'll find it easy enough...
to participate... lots of room for imagination!
The weather here today was nice... but there was a brief moment late this morning there were a few actual snow flakes fluttering down... thank heavens that stopped almost immediately.
But it does go to show that winter is very likely not done with us yet.
