Still Reading but I've Been Away

My 17 y/o dd spent 17 days in the hospital and right now we are still pretty much homebound. I don't have computer access at home so I haven't had a chance to post any of my books. I can't read when I am stressed so I didn't get much read in the 15 days we spent in the hospital. I did read one book under the advice of my dd for the New to Me challenge - Romiette and Julio by Sharon Draper. It's a young adult book but I enjoyed the story. She has a long road ahead but she will be alright. Hopefully back to school next week with me back to work. Next time I get to computer I hope to catch up with my entries if only to list all my books read with ratings for now.

My dd is doing better. She is still using a walker for support and wheelchair for long distances. We have an appt with the spine doctor today so we will see what he says.

New Update

The spine doctor upgraded her physical therapy from home to outpatient with full activities. He wants to work on getting her strength and balance back to 100%.  Her first appt is today. She's afraid they are going to hurt her, but she will be fine. They won't push her beyond her limits and this is a great milestone. She is still on the IV antibiotics and hopefully that will change soon. She wants to take a long hot bath when they order the PICC line out.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

Today I will have my internet service back at home and I will be able to catch up on my blog. It's hard to do much other than work with me working only part time.

(((Star))) ,... that a wonderful update ...

such great news!  .... I'm so glad that your daughter is progressing so well ... and yes, she'll just love it when the PICC lines is out and a nice soak will indeed feel wonderful

I'm looking forward to having you back her more often!
