How did this happen?????

Today I woke up to my husband obsessing over the weather.  Yes, the reports on TV made it out to be something awful, but the dog was calm, so I figured we couldn't be in too much trouble.  Mike kept insisting we were going to get bombarded quickly, and that it just wasn't quite close enough yet to upset Sally.  I, on the other hand have complete faith in the dog, and knew it wouldn't be that bad, because if it was she'd be shaking early and often!

Well, the rain comes and goes quickly, and we are fortunate...no power loss or damage to our house.  Other areas close to us are not so lucky, so I hope those people can recover quickly.

So I'm sitting on the bed pretending interest in the weather reports on TV, but really reading, Mike is pacing, and Sally is acting queenly, by laying on the pillows and ignoring us both.  Now, it's time to dry my hair, and get our son up for school.

That process goes smoothly, and Mike gets conned into taking Brian to school so he doesn't have to stand at the corner in the rain.  I head off to work, and have a really smooth commute.  Whew!  Now I'm searching my tote...oh no!  Where's my book?

I'm reading Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas, and it must be sitting on the bed watching the weather!  Fortunately I had tossed a spare in my tote, so I'm now going to start Where The Road Ends by Tara Taylor Quinn.  So you're thinking good you had a spare, but I'm thinking yuch....now I'm reading two books at once.

Since I'm reading two books at once and when I can find my IPOD(I couldn't find where I set it last night when I didn't feel good) I'm listening to an audio it got me curious how many do you have going at one time?  All the same genre?  All print?  Spill...curious minds need to know!

I always have about

I always have about four or five going at a time. One in the car, one audio on my personal MP3/CD player, one or more on my Kindle, and a paperback or two because holding a book in my hand is still my favorite way to read. I get more reading in this way.

No wonder you can read so fast!  You have so many going in so many different places!  Did you suffer any storm damage?

True confessions

I typically have more than one book on the go too. Usually 2-3 books o be perfectly honest, one always in audio to listen to during my commute.  There's nothing I hate more than being caught without something to read....something Malle refers to as "a reading emergency".  Only true romance readers know this pain.

I must be weird!

I seem to be the only person who normally reads only one book at a time, and listens to one audio at a time.

I had a friend who at one time had a living room book, a bedroom book, a bathroom book, and a car book.  Whether or not she still does this I don't know, and the next time we're discussing books I'm going to have to find out!

I appreciate all the comments.  Keep them coming!

Sandi, usually read two or three books at a time. Right now I am reading Lover Awakened and High Noon. I also try and make sure that I have a book with me wherever I go.

I used to be a one book woman(have been known to read more than one due to circumstances beyond my control) until recently. With the new computer I was able to download another ereader and now have about 30 ebooks downloaded. usually I have an ebook on the go and a print book going. I like to read in bed and can only read ebooks on the pc.

used to be

used to be a several books at a time reader...usually one fiction, one non but found that I wouldn't end up finishing the non fiction book. I like to immerse myself in the story so one a t a time. i can't do the audio because I become so engossed in the story that I get lost. I drive past my turns and by the time I notice I am really lost.Embarassed

Sandi - You are not the

Sandi - You are not the only one, with only one print book.  I rarely read more than one print at a time.  If I am it is because one wasn't holding my interest, so I put it aside for a while.

Great blog Sandi

Love this blog, Sandi.

Sometimes I have 4 going at once, all print but usually different genres.  Right now I have two going, a hardcover traditional suspense and a Presents.  Maybe 3, because I took a long peak at Joanne Rock's new Medieval historical.  I prefer to read one at once.  Often I have an upstairs/downstairs book.  I tend to lose books under the couch andthen think it must be upstairs so I start another.

One...

It is one at a time for me unless I leave a book somewhere while I'm traveling & have to wait to get it back.  I hate it when I do that.  So far I don't listen to books it just doesn't hold any appeal to me.  My tiny little opinion of listening to a book while I was driving would be like talking on the cell, distracting not good when you are driving.  Lots of people don't agree with me on that but if you are having a conversation you are not paying as much attention to driving/traffic and it can cause problems. Smile  When I'm reading a book I want to give all my attention to that story unless I'm not enjoying the book.  If the book is really bad I stop reading but if it seems like it might improve I'll keep reading.  Sometimes that leads me to wonder why I wasted the time!!  Luckily I don't have that problem to often.

Great discussion Sandi.  It seems we don't have these great topics as often with all the changes here.  I know I don't visit other "teams" and Challengers like I did before.  As it is I spend more time on the computer than I probably should!  Think neglected house!!!!! Undecided

Have a great weekend everyone. Smile

Sandi, I always think about you & your family when I hear about the nasty weather in your part of the world.  Glad you are all okay.  I have Sugar Daddy coming to me & I just finished Just Desserts.  Loved Just Desserts.  This is such a wicked place if you love to read!  On the other hand I have discovered so many wonderful authors & friends. Smile

Take care, happy reading,

I always

have two or three print books started and sometimes two audio books in progress.  I have only recently discovered audiobooks and cannot believe I've been commuting for 8 years and haven't been listening to books the entire time.  Look at how much time I have wasted!!!  I can't stand to be without a book, so there's one in my purse, one in my book bag I carry to school, one in each pocket of the car seats....etc!

I used to have multiple

I used to have multiple books going, but now I generally restict it to one or two books at a time. I find I want to get caught up in the story and it gets too confusing to have more than one going at a time. But reading emergencies sometimes dictate getting a second book going.Wink
