Hi all, Thank You for the welcome everyone. I will have to remember/write down/ your suggestions Penn. Obviously I am doing something a bit wrong in here. I can't find my first review (Poseidon's Kiss) and just tried to submit another one that didn't seem to work. Is it normal once you get a drop down menu not to be able to close it again? They are hiding some fields I need to fill. Then I hit submit review and nothing happened. After reading your post sadhbh I may add a few from my backlog that I still have laying around. I kind of felt that it was cheating to put in a bunch that I already read. But maybe not as I read them in the past month. I am assuming, if I can ever get these to work, that I can submit more than one in a 24hour period.

Hi Blake - at the beginning of the year, before the site was up
and running, those of us who were signed up and reading like crazy used
a word doc to keep our blogs in until we could post them. This is also
useful when you lose book reviews as it means you don't have to type
them up again
You can blog all the books you can remember reading since January

1st, the Challenge will be delighted to accept as many books as you
like, given that it goes to helping literacy (not that I can personally
claim to have too big a problem on that score
Reviews don't have to be long or complicated, just reflect your opinion of the book and hopefully encourage others to try it

Welcome to the Challenge ...
hmm, sounds like you're having some tech trouble .... what you can try to do is simply close out of your web browser and then come back in .... sometimes that clears out some sticky bugs
I tend to fill in the "review" area first and then later go to the drop down boxes ... you could also try that
if you are writing your reviews in a word processing doc first, when you copy it to the "review" box, highlight all the text copied and then click on the little "eraser" icon on the editing tool bar (it's the one beside the smilie) ... this removes all the formating from your word processing doc. ... for some reason this site is very sensitive to external formating
so all your formating ie bold, centering, etc will have to be done using the tools on the editing tool bar
as this Challenge is for books read since Jan 1, 2008, you can blog all your 2008 books read .. just that they can not be books that you have reread within a one year period, so if you read it in 2007 and again in 2008 the book shouldn't be reviewed and counted ....
as far as what to put in your reviews, I think this has been covered in the How to Add a Book Review discussion ... if you want to know more about how to make your review look nice with book covers etc., click on Blogs above and then on more under Most Favourited Blogs, and scroll through, there are several blogs there that members have written to explain how to best make use of the editing features available here on this site ....plus there is a blog about Tags
though to catch up with your backlog, if you find that a full review is too daunting, at least give the full book details, ie title, author, line, #, release date ... and a comment on whether you enjoyed the book ... you could make a comment that you are catching up on your backlog as well
