I bought I new PDA. Which is great because I can load ebooks on it and also use it for work. I've been spending my nights, my normal reading time, browsing the books I want to buy and learning how to convert into the correct format. I am on technology overload.
I've read two books on it. Now I have to ask, what size ebook constitutes a book? They are only in ebook format and when I bought them they are described at novel length. But one was only half the size of the other and I am curious if this would be considered a novella. Anybody? With reading them on my Palm the pages are obviously much shorter, thus more of them so I know that the 180 page rule will not apply.
I'm reading a paperback right now, Stephanie Tyler's Beyond His Control. I also recently finished Dianne Castell's Hot and Bothered. I just need to sit down and write the review. I've been a bad blogger this month and have slacked off entirely.
I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow morning and I plan on just packing my Palm. I have to say how wonderful it is to not worry about creasing the covers of my books. Yep, I'm a geek. LOL

Hi Jill, Congratulations on
Hi Jill, Congratulations on your new PDA/reading apparatus. New electroncis/toys are always exciting. Hope you get lots of enjoyment out of reading on it.
An ebook reader is something i can see myself one day purchasing. Not sure i could stand reading anything other than paperbooks though...we'll see.

I've been tempted to buy one....
Hey, Jillyann. I've been thinking of buying a PDA for ebooks and stuff. I'm the one that posted the blog about ebooks versus paper books. Got some interesting responses from it. I will probably still always prefer paper books, but it's starting to sound like ebooks come in handy sometimes.
By the way, if you're a geek, I am too. LOL! I LOVE to read!
PDA?
Hhhmmm, maybe that would be something I should look into!
I've been enjoying
my PDA. I was lucky enough to find an inexpensive one online. It's a Palm Tungsten E. I downloaded the MobiPocket Reader program and so far have not had a bit of trouble. I couldn't decide on a larger ereader (expensive) and was concerned that I would not like reading my books digitally and found this to be a wonderful compromise. I can use the PDA for other things if the ebooks don't suit me. But so far I am really enjoying it. The only true problem is the constant page turning, which I knew before I bought it.
Hm...
I know what you mean about the covers, Jill. I HATE when any of mine get messed up... [this is why I'm so concerned with getting new books - but I've started collected Diana Palmers, and I have to go second hand with most of those.]
As to the book... I guess go with what the epub says. If they've labeled it as "full length" it counts as a book. Short or novella, I don't think would... right? [or would a novella?]
Page turning?
Jillyan, by 'constant page turning' do you mean because the size of the screen or is there a button you have to keep pushing? I'm TSTL when it comes to anything other than pcs and laptops! <g> That's why I've been asking everybody so many questions about the devices they're reading ebooks from. I'm such a nerd! LOL
page turning
on a PDA the screen is so much smaller thus you only have about a third of a normal page on the screen at any given time. Instead of a book having 200 pages it ends up with something like 600 pages (or more) so I am always tapping the screen to turn the page.
Does that help? I don't know if I am describing it right.
Yeah, I get it now....
Thanks, Jillyan. Guess I should've thought of that since it's a hand-held device. Duh!
LOL I'm behind on my technology!
