I had a g.c. to Amazon that I had been debating on how to use it. I really really wanted a Kindle, but could I really justify the extra money it would cost. So, I decided it's not in stock, and who knows when it will be, so I'll just preorder some books that are yelling SANDI, and come the fall I'll have some nice reading material....I have more than enough to hold me over until the fall, and thought I'd give myself a treat for not killing Brian while he has the summer off, and keeping my composure as Richard drives off to college for the start of his future.
Last night I'm surfing, and look what Amazon did...they have Kindles in stock! Ok...Mother's Day is coming, and I deserve a really special treat this year because of all I've dealt with emotionally with Brian, not to mention a few things Richard has thrown into the mix. So off I go to cancel my books, and use my g.c. to help pay for my Kindle.
So hopefully by Thursday I'll have my Kindle in my hot little hands. Then I'll have to find a book or two to download.
Did I make the right decision? Should I have waited? Did I wait too long, and I'm going to hate that I wasn't on the bandwagon sooner? Any comments?

LOL Sandi. If you ask me, any e-book reader is a waste of money, but I don't like e-books. (I know, I know. I should move out of the 20th century!

Moving into technology
I have debated the ereader thing ever since my Palm Pilot died. I do like ebooks, but I also don't think they'll ever replace my paper library.
I love the idea that I can have one book being read, and if I finish it, and don't have a spare one with me I can instantly buy one.
Also, I am planning on maybe going to Chicago this summer, by having this I can have one device and be good to go with books!

RE: I SUCCUMBED TO TEMPTATION
(Lord...the times I've said that in the confessional!!!) I've studied up on Kindles, but I'm too cheap to spend that kind of quid on e-books to read with a Kindle. LOL! There's also something to be said about reading books the "old-fashioned" way. Much of what makes reading enjoyable IS no wireless, no telly, turning the blower and PC off, etc., and having it quiet to simply read and turn pages.

Unless of course you're like me and quite literally never get time to read unless you're on the move. Try making spagetti and holding a paperback, or sorting/folding a mountain of socks while reading. When you figure out how to grow that extra hand let me know.
