As part of my goal to expand my reading habit - at least what and who I read - I am giving Blaze a shot. A quick briefer, I read the occasional Harl. Temptation, but wasn't thrilled with the early direction of the Blaze line, seemed all sex and no story. Well, of course, I have been hearing for a while that Blaze's are so much more. So last year, I tried one. It didn't really fit me - not the sex, but the story. However, since my TBR was huge, I stopped there and haven't picked up any more. However, I have been hearing great things about Kathleen O'Reilly's Sex Straight Up. So I decided to give the line another shot. So for all you Blaze lovers, is this a good one to try or is there something else you would recommend. Right now, I read a lot of SRS, SSE, some HAR and some Supers, with the occasional other lines tossed in.
Cady

Cady - as a member of the Dream Team I have to suggest
Lori (Borrill)
, but seriously I haven't read a single one of hers I haven't loved. I also love Jo Leigh (Closer, Relentless, Reckoning and Release or any of her Hush/Do Not Disturb books)
When you've read those and decided whether or not you want more recommendations, we can talk some more - I think Penni might be able to send you Closer if you talk to her nicely

Gosh, I hate to say it but
Gosh, I hate to say it but the Jo Leigh books were the ones I couldn't get into. I read one and tried to read another, but they just didn't work for me. I thought they would as I read an HAR by her that I loved and it was RS, but some reason, they just didn't work for me.
Which of Lori's would you recommend?

I loved Kathleen's book
I think you will be pleasantly surprised -- it's hot, of course, since it's Blaze, but I really enjoyed this book a lot. I have a review of it somwhere here -- I don't know if you can find it on my profile... Don't let the title fool you -- it's a very emotional book. I dare you to read the first few pages and not keep going. *G*
It's great you are giving the line a second chance. :)

Sam - Everything I read
Sam - Everything I read about this book made it seem like an auto-buy if it was another line, so I thought why no. My issue with the earlier books that I read seemed that the entire storyline was based around getting in bed. That didn't work for me, I don't mind Hot, but I want story. It seems like they have a lot more story, so I need to give the line another shot.
Thanks Sadhbh - that should give me some to try. I shouldn't have quit after one last year, but truthfully my TBR is so large (at least to me) that it seemed easier to quit than to find more books.

Thanks Sadhbh
I think, even among my own books, for Cady I would lean toward Untouched (which, while an Extreme, had fewer love scenes than typical because the heroine was a virgin and you can't just, you know, jump in there, LOL), and if you didn't like Jo's suspense-oriented books, I don't know how much the HotWires series would appeal. I hope you do find Blaze authors you enjoy, regardless of whether I am one of them or not. :) I love the line, and think it's great, obviously. :)
A few of my must-buys in Blaze are Cara Summers, Joanne Rock, Lorie Wilde, Tawny Weber, and Karen Foley. If you want to read a different kind of book by Jo, you might try one of her older Blazes, Truth or Dare, which is probably my favorite of all of her books, and really very different than the recent ones. I think you might enjoy it, and Jo is worth a second chance. :)
Thanks for giving it a try. :)

Burning Up
Don't forget Sarah Mayberry, I read her Burning Up and really enjoyed it. GREAT story and dynamics between the heroine and hero were HOT.

OMG
How could I have forgotten Sarah on my must buys? You can't lose with a Mayberry book. Now I am wracked with guilt, and have to go email her. ;>

Sam, the strange thing is I
Sam, the strange thing is I love romantic suspense, was a huge Bombshell fan before the line ended, so the Jo Leigh books should have been up my alley, can't really say why they didn't work. I will have to look up Untouched.
Okay, I have quite a list now. I ordered Kathleen's story, it should be here within a week or so and then I can give some others a try.

I just finished SEX
I just finished SEX STRAIGHT UP today. It is definitely worth reading. Great story. I was touched at the depth of emotion. It is nice to read a book that actually addresses 9/11 and the lives touched by the tragedy, and done in a truly sensitive manner. Very nicely done.

Hi Cady
I love Julie Miller's Harlequin Intrigue. Her latest Blaze was really good. It also has suspense. You should give it a try.

I had a post written and my server timed out with a page not found error. grrr.
I'm not a big Blaze fan eitehr since I prefer story to sex in my books. But I did read a couple that i really liked. the Perfect Score by Julie Kenner. it was funny and more story to it. Had a bit of a chick lit feel. I thought the humor was great, but then that's part of why I love Julie's stuff.
The other one i really liked was Just dare Me by Stephane Bond. Another funny one and I only remember one really hot scene. This one got me becasue of the comedy in it.
