Flooding in Fredericton 2

Here my girls are playing on a blocked off city street.  We had great fun splashing and throwing sticks in the water!   Last flood that was like this was in 1973.

Oh so cute!

And you and I were a year old and so wouldn't remember that last flood.  Though you do have 6 months on me.

Are things really bad?  I've heard Maugerville and Jemseg are a mess.

Mess

Oh, Donna, it is a huge mess.  They yanked the ambulances off and replaced them with the military "Bisons" and are evac. loads of families.  The water finally crested yesterday afternoon, but everyone is worried about rain.   The roads to my parents house are blocked and the only way to Keswick was through Fredericton and over the dam.

I spent 1 1/2 hours in traffic to get over the westmorland bridge, which takes about 10 min normally.  They had shut down the other bridge.  Blah, we better be getting some wicked flowers out of this April showers and flooding!!!!

Yeah, we figured the flats

Yeah, we figured the flats would be flooded.  Should mean some good fiddleheads though.  The people down at the Mouth are probably floating as well. We had friends down in Maugerville who always had trouble with their fields flooding.  I bet  they are in a huge mess.
