Finally done !

Well, I am finally done with reviewing my backlog I had read this year that were sitting in a bag waiting to be taken somewhere. At least it was the small bag.  I had already gotten rid of the larger bag of book as the UBS was having a 'gotta pay my taxes' sale. I think if the larger stack had still been here I may have been a little bit more intimidated about fnishing.  It was interesting to re-visit but I am ready to start reading new-to-me books again.  And I got my book shipment from harlequin in the mail this morning.  They all look good so I am more than set.  I will have to make sure not to be reading all day tommorrow as I want to make sure to watch the Kentucky Derby on TV.  If I can pick a horse out I may go thru the drive-thru they have set up here at our racetrack and buy a small ticket.   We'll see.Smile

blake

You have inspired me to get my backlog blogged this weekend. I am not pulling my weight around here!

Good luck with the race if you get a ticket. I didn't know they had drive-throughs to buy tickets. How cool.

Thanks for the Derby wishes.

Thanks for the Derby luck wishes.  After sitting in the drive thru to buy my tickets for 3 1/2 hrs + I was hoping to win something nice. I picked 3 horses and then bet a 4 to use up my bill.  Well, all the horses I originally picked did not win but the one that I just sort of winged it and said go ahead won me a little something.  It was the favorite so the odds were great, which means small pay-off usually. A little is something though and it helped sooth a bit about the time it took to get the ticket.

Angel,  good luck with the backlog entries.  It feels great when you fnally finish and revisiting past books is interesting, especially if you enjoyed them.  You don't need to worry about pulling any weight here.  Anything you post is enough.  Smile

Cool .... glad you won a little something .... though it would have been way cool if you'd won a big something!   Smile

Do you pray for a horse you don't know?

My little something win is nice, and it is so pretty out today that the very short wait at the drive thru was nice.  It would have been nice to win big but as I bet small that wasn't really in the cards.  I do feel bad for the poor horse that came in second.  It was the only lady horse in the Derby and she collapsed at the end of the race.  They put her down right away as she had broken both front ankles. Cry

P.S.  Her name was Eight Belles.

I felt so bad for that filly

I felt so bad for that filly and her owners, trainers, etc. It reminded me why I don't like horse racing. But they are beautiful when they are running.
