Does anybody know anything about this? I do have a Cassie Edwards novel, "Savage Quest," printed by Leisure Books/Dorchester Publishing that I read earlier this year. Actually, it was quite good, and I've been "hepped up" about purchasing more of Ms. Edwards' books. However, when I heard about this, I seem to have lost all interest. Granted, Ms. Edwards has written a lot of books, and I imagine it can be difficult always coming up with "something new" for her readers -- but isn't it more honest to go before Jane & John Q. Public and say, "I'm having a dry spell, so nothing new for a while," as opposed to copying a portion of someone else's work and claiming it as one's own? When did this happen? It must be old news, as no one has talked about it since I've been around (about six months). What was the outcome? Did she really plagiarise?

It's pretty clear that
It's pretty clear that she's plagarized.
There's a 98-page PDF that neatly catalogues quite a few examples and compares passages from Edwards' novels to the sources she copied from. And it's not so much a dry spell as not writing the actual text herself -- check out the document and see.
Re: Savage Plagarist ....
Hi HJ ..... I don't think Cassie Edwards was accused of plagarizing story lines .... there were however, clearly proven passages of historical description that she took practically word for word from her research books ... had she credited the author of the research she would have been okay, but she claimed that because she wrote fiction she didn't have to, which is poppeycock in my book
this was discussed here back in January .... I think the investigation is ongoing .... however one of her publishers, Signet, has dropped her ... but her main publisher is on the fence and hasn't said boohoo about it

To me, that is the dumbest
To me, that is the dumbest part - she could have easily cited that she used these historical books as research or simply taken more time and found her own words for the pieces. I also had issues with her response to the issue, instead of owning up and mea culpa, etc. She blamed the problem on those who pointed it out. Nora Roberts who has been a victim of plagiarism (by Janet Daley) spoke out against plagiarism and then CE attacked her. Really turned me off. I don't think I had ever read a CE book, but I definately won't now.

All I have to say about
All I have to say about Cassie Edwards is LAME....guess she's not so in love with writing anymore.....rather she's loving the $$ she pockets off unsuspecting readers....shame on her
