Wine

Do you like wine?  I always have.  I would like to state right off the bat though, I do not have a Pinot Noir-Turning Leaf
discerning tongue.  It really is easy going.  :-)  As long as it’s
edible, I’m basically okay with whatever I eat or drink.  As such, I
could never be a tester.  ;-)  And I would most definitely be one of
those people who’d find something delightful about the type of homemade
brew you’d get out of a plastic jug which would make an ‘expert’
cringe.  :-) But that having been said, it fascinates me so I dabble, learning as I go, having fun.

Iowa, I’ve discovered, has at least 42 wineries–how
cool is that?   And here I thought I’d have to travel to California or
Italy to get to visit a winery.  (Okay, yeah I knew this wasn’t true
but I liked the idea as it gave me an excuse to tell my hubby we HAD to
travel ;-)  )  And lucky us, our grocery store has also just started
carrying some of the local brands.  We’ve tried one out so far(will have to get it again so I can log it–no clue what it was called :-) ). It was a red table wine it said and I thought it okay though my hubby wasn’t fond of it.  Warned ya.  ;-)

So anyhow, I’ve set up a Wine Log page
where I’ll keep these totally BEGINNER’S thoughts on what we’ve tried
and what we thought.  Figured it’d be nice to have even though we
aren’t about to ever become ‘experts’.  I don’t remember names very
well(look above) and if ever we want to have something in particular on
hand for company I’d have some way of finding out what it was I was
thinking I wanted.  :-)  Also, the beauty of WordPress is you can
comment on these extra pages–you can make suggestions!  How perfect is
that?  This way if you have a certain type you liked, you can let me
know too.

Now for this summer, I’m thinking it would make a fun excursion to
plan on visiting at least one of these local wineries.   What do you
think?
