When-I-attended-the-season-finale-of-the-SanBernardino

symphony-last-night,the-air-was-electric.There-was-an

extra-police-presence.There-was-a-flock-of-papparazzi.

People-who-normally-wouldn't-attend-the-symphony,wearing

jeans-and-t-shirts,bought-tickets.The-reason-was-that-the

mother-of-the-conductor-was-attending.After-the-season

finale-there-is-always-sparkling-cider,champagne-and

Hors_D'Ouvres-being-served-in-the-California-room.This-time,

after-the-bows-were-taken,a-crush-of-people-filled-the-stairs

and-lobby-outside-the-California-room.No-air-was-moving-in

this-SRO-crowd.Many-who-had-dressed-to-the-nines,jackets

and-evening-wraps-probably-wished-they-were-in-swimsuits.

The-waiting-area-seemed-like-a-sauna.Many-including-myself

fanned-themselves-frantically-with-their-programs.I-felt

rivulets-of-sweat-roll-down-my-back.I-thanked-God-that-I

wore-a-sleeveless-dress.Finally,after-a-couple-of-false-openings,

the-doors-opened-to-the-air-conditioned-room.An-area-on

a-slightly-elevated-section-of-the-floor-near-the-doorway-was

roped-off-with-a-conference-table-and-chairs.I-was-armed

with-my-disposable-camera-with-2-shots-left-and-my-cell-phone.

Then,the-lady-herself-appeared-accompanied-my-famed

fashion-designer,NolanMiller.Nolan-designed-clothes-for

many-tv-shows,including_Dynasty.He-also-designs-jewelry

for-sale-on-QVC-shopping-channel.The-conductor,CarloPonti,Jr.

is-the-son-of-the-Italian-actress,SophiaLoren.She-appeared

regal-in-her-bearing.The-cameras-flashed-relentlessly.Photogs

pushed-ordinary-people-like-ragdolls.People-yelled-at-them

to-watch-out.One-fellow,connected-to-the-local-junior

college,had-an-orignal-copy-of-'Life'-magazine-featuring-a

cover-photo-of-the-lady-in-her-youth.She-graciously-autographed

it-for-him.I-managed-to-get-the-two-photos-with-my-little

camera.Those-pics-have-yet-to-be-developed.I-took-a-few-more

with-my-shaky-cell-phone.People-were-pushing-me-and-the

subject-of-the-photo-moved.So,I-will-attempt-to-share-one

photo-I_got.I-will-post-it-next. I-hope-this-comes-out-right.
