(HTO) The world-famous Detroit Red Wings pushed the Dallas Stars out of the Western Conference semi-finals Monday evening, May 19, and will move to the National Hockey League's Eastern Conference & Western Conference Finals with the Pittsburgh Penguins as both teams battle it out for the coveted Lord Stanley's Cup, signifying the winners as North America's best, brightest, and snappiest ice-hockey team for the 2007-2008 playing season.

The losses in game 4 & 5
The losses in game 4 & 5 scared me a bit. Glad to see they got their heads on straight and pulled it out. Osgood looked really good in the third period last night.

What are these Red wings of
What are these Red wings of which you speak? Last time I looked (in the 1970s!), the Boston Bruins were the only hockey team worth supporting!

we're dating ourselves, LOL ..... yes indeed back in the 70's the Bruins were the ONLY team to root for! ... especially when the good Canadian boy from Parry Sound, Ontario was on the team! .... that's Bobby Orr, for those that may not remember or weren't born yet

oh .... we must be about the same age FF ......
in 5th Grade it was all the rage with the world hockey series with Canada vs Russia .... when it came to the critcal games they let all the classes watch the game on t.v. instead of doing our lessons ..... talk about national pride then! .... I think that's when Canadians really get excited, we have alot of pride in our athletes ... esp. hockey
Bobby Sherman ... oh yes ... we all have a huge crush on him .... that was the show Here Comes the Brides, and I'm trying to remember what his character's name was ... Jeremy? or Joshua? .... I think Jeremy .... he was such a sweetie pie :D

Not much of a hockey fan
Not much of a hockey fan but I remember my dad listening to the radio or watch the Hockey games on Saturday night. The stars then where Brian Hextall from Manitoba and the Howes from Saskatchewan. Of course I think there were only 6 teams playing at that time. If I remember correctly, Lord Stanley was married to one of Queen Victoria's daughters.

RE: MY - MY- MY,,,,,
SPORTS ILLUSTRATED Magazine puts it this way, "...this is the age of the Detroit Red Wings." Anyway, I know a lot of folks, especially those of the feminine persuasion, really aren't big hockey buffs and that's okay. I leaned to play puck when I was quite young (4), I've played it on school teams, with the motley crew in the neighbourhood, city-wide leagues as an adult, and as a US Marine beating the butts off of the US Navy.
