Memorial Day weekend, this weekend, marks 2 anniversaries. 8 years ago, I moved to Colorado over Memorial Day weekend. 2 years ago we adopted our cat from the shelter. Not sure what we will do. I really planned nothing ahead other than getting through this dental appointment and making sure that there were no surprises ahead.
I just finished Jessica Hart's new Harlequin Romance. I'll blog it later officially but what an emotional and wonderful romance!

Oh, Merri....
What a sweetie-pie! He's darling. I love orange cats - or should I say yellow, russet, or tiger? Well, whatever the actual shade is, he reminds me of Garfield - my favorite sassy cartoon cat. Happy feline anniversary!
Oh, and good luck at the dentist!

Love the picture of the cat. I have a soft spot for cats of all sizes and colours. I have a calico that is almost 20 years old and she is a real dear, although she doesn't get along to well with the other cats in the family. Thanks for your many kind comments on my book reviews.

I love your cat icon, too. A picture is worth a thousand words and yours makes me want to reach out and rub the little guy's belly, and brings a smile to my face.

I love the picture of your cat! We have 3 cats here. Two of them are over 10 lbs of cat and one is about 7 lbs. They are all Maine Coons--all that fluffy fur flying around the house!
May the double anniversary you are celebrating this weekend be delightful.

Thanks everyone. Miss Mona, I llove your cat picture too. Buddha lies on his back a lot and loves having his tummy rubbed. Sometimes he will lie on his back on the bad or ottoman and whenever Glenn or I walk by, he will reach out a paw to entice one us to rub his tummy. I think Buddha definitely chose us. The first thing he did when the shelter officer brought him into the room was to climb on GLenn's chest and shoulder and start purring. Right then we knew and did not ask to visit any other cats. We lead a fairly quiet life and I think it has helped him to come out of his shell. I think he really needed a quiet home to feel secure. He just has certain fears and, although more affectionate than any cat I have ever known, he just can be so timid about certain things. Most cats love exploring boxes but Buddha would get all timid every time a new box of books would arrive and carefully avoid it. Finally, he is jumping up on he end of the bed and he actually watches movies with us and slowly we are trying to encourage him to move up so he will sit between us. A pillow is ok because then he is sort of above everyone but something abput beds scares him. He will cuddle up next to my side when I am reading on the couch but not on the bed. Hopefully someday.
Dentists:
Aunt Cheryl, I don't think my dental woes will ever be completely gone. It's been an ongoing almost 20 year struggle but for the moment, I am free. Yipppeee! I survived my dentist appointment on Thursday...actually 2 appointments to have my teeth cleaned and then also to have 2 tiny cavities filled and have the bonding done. More good news is that I survived and don't need to go back, barring an emergency, for 3 months and then just for a cleaning! And even better news...that after trying to find a common sense general dentist to work with me for the past 8 years since I have moved here, I found one! That nightmare is finally over. Yippeee!
I have never had a problem finding great periodontists but finding a general dentist here has been an 8 year nightmare. The first said my issues were beyond his expertise. The second basically did the same thing but was a total jerk. Finally, my perio and my former prosthodontist decided that between the two of them, they would take care of my general dentistry needs and spare me the trouble. But then the prosthodontist went into teaching and then ...the other prosthodintist took his place refused to treat me unless I wanted to have him completely overhaul and reconstruct my entire face. Why in the world would I do that when I know that what the dentists in NC did works...and has for almost 20 years?!?!
Anyhow, I really like this new general dentist. He seems to get it. He wasn't intimidated that I actually have learned about things during my dental struggles and he also has the expertise and obviously thinks solutions, and knows of new bonding materials (Kevlar) instead of just saying "I don't do that." I just can't believe, given my past experiences here, that this lost filling turned into something good, much better than I could have imagined.
