Memorial Day is packed full of memories for me. It seems that we've always watched racing on that Sunday, both the Indy and the Nascar races, despite the fact I'm not an Indy car fan at all. But it's tradition, so I keep doing it!
This year, we also went to the drive in movies. Yes, we still have a drive in theater here in Florida. The new Indiana Jones movie was playing and despite the fact that Harrison Ford was already well into his adult years when I barely was old enough to watch him in the first Star Wars, it didn't matter. This was Indiana Jones, folks! I've faithfully watched Indiana Jones with some of the lines being so memorable they are burned into my brain. Who doesn't remember the snake lines? And then scenes like where he is fighting the guy with the sword and pulls out the whip.... oh these are classic scenes!
So back to the new Indiana Jones movie. The beginning had me wondering what had they done to my beloved series... and then the magic kicked in. Yes, Harrsion is old. Yes, some of the scenes were what you'd expect. But you know what? It didn't matter... it was the magic of the Indiana Jones movies, made even better by the nostalgia of a drive in theater.

I saw ....
Prince Caspian yesterday. Not great but good and entertaining.
I will prob go see Indy next weekend.
It has been many many years since I went to a drive in. I think the last movie I saw at a drive in was Jaws.

Prince Caspian...
was playing on the other screen at the drive in but it was with something called Step Up 2 that I have no desire to see. We'll eventually catch Prince Caspian.... And it's nice still having a drive in theater. We went to one when I was just a kid but they are just so much fun; it's a whole different atmosphere!

drive ins
we went to the drive in alot when I was a kid.
My parents would take us there when they wanted to see something not suitable for kids (like The Godfather). We would go dressed in our pj's and go to sleep while they watched the movie.
But mostly we got to stay up and see things like Jaws, or American Grafiti. Got to play on the playground and all kinds of stuff

I love Indy and can't wait
I love Indy and can't wait to see the new movie. I haven't been to an adult movie in years, but I am going to see this one at the theater. How cool to see it at a Drive-In
