My world went a little nuts with a somewhat sudden move and all that that entails. Not like my life wasn't crazy enough with busyness at work and family drama but I had to go and decide to move in the middle of May! LOL Seems like this is the year for moving. I know of at least two other people on-line who are in process of moving or looking to move, three or four people in RW who are in process or have already moved and now myself. It's just craziness. And moving is such a big fat dramatic hairy deal. And expensive, too. All those deposits that require a big fat wad of cash upfront take their toll. It was a blessing indeed that I even had the cash to do all that depositing. The Lord must have really been in this move because a) I had enough money b) I found a place a whole lot quicker than anticipated and c) I had a big heaping helping of familial help in moving.
There are some definite drawbacks to the move besides monetary. it's slightly more expensive. I'll be leaving the quiet peacefulness of lakeside living in the country to living in town, albeit a quieter section. I'm going from living in the privacy of a three bedroom house with no immediate next door neighbors to the somewhat less privacy of a two bedroom duplex. My neighbor has already proved herself to be super friendly which totally knocks out my usual need for reclusivness. Which would be good, I guess, except I'm not sure I really want this person all up in my business. Her lifestyle in the three days I've lived there is a little less than appealing. Guys in and out all hours, noisy children I'm scared she'll ask me to babysit, coming and going all hours of the day and night. Yesterday alone I heard her front door slam open and shut so many times that I was ready to go smack her with it.
But there are some definite positives, too. The apartment is in much better shape than the house, it's more convenient to work, It's actually got a better layout and larger rooms than my house did, no yard maintenance to keep up with, the A/C works GREAT (it didn't at the house), the foundation seems solid (the house had a cracked foundation), it's smack in the middle of town which means I can get to just about anywhere I want to go in 10-15 minutes or less. Not that I'll be able to afford eating out or shopping. But if I get the 3% merit raise they're whispering about, I might be able to.
Anyway, that's what's been up with me and why I haven't book blogged lately. I haven't had time to read. But I'm working on getting back to it. I got Maggie Shayne's Lover's Bite in the mail last week and started it last night. I'm looking forward to getting really into it. And there's a slew of books I'm looking forward to purchasing in June. So maybe I'll catch up on my reading soon. I'm not going to knock myself out trying to get everything unpacked anyway. I'll probably just unpack as I need it. If in six months I haven't unpacked it, I'll get rid of it. One thing I discovered through all this moving business is that I have FAR too much crap. What does one single woman need with all this junk? Do I even use any of it? Much less enjoy it? And what's the point of having it if you don't use it or enjoy it? It just becomes clutter, then. And one thing I need less of in my life these days is clutter. For sure.

privacy and clutter
I don't have privacy either. I'm in a six floor apartment building and I'm on the third floor. The building has a parrk really, really close(so close I have a clear veiw of it from my balcony doors. Every Sat at about 8:30 in the summer there is a soccar game. there are also kids playing(and shouting) big lawnmowers, a guy that listens to books on tape without earphones. But yeah there are definite advates to living here. Because I rent- no lawn maintaince, indoor/outdoor pool(no pool maintaince), something breaks, call super, heat, water and hydro paid for..
It looks like my sister may be coming Monday and we are painting bathroom and kitchen. so far the last three days I've been doing major cleaning and since I'm washing walls an cabinets, might as well declutter. Why keep it if I don't use it.
