We got snow in Gallup NM

When we pulled into Gallup NM it was snowing. We set up our trailers in cold, wet weather. It was exciting for the ladies from Florida and S. Carolina, but those of us from the north were looking forward to the sun. But it was still fun.

We had dinner at the old El Rancho Hotel and the next day toured the old Richardson Trading post. We got to go in the back rooms and vaults where thousands of pieces of Navajo jewelry, rugs, blankets, saddles and skins are stored until the owners pay their pawn loan. Anything that is not picked up after a year can be sold. We saw some beautiful works of art. And we walked on a very old rug worth $300,000!

Since we were a good size group they gave us 60% off any of the new or not pawn jewelry.

Now, I am on my own again and on my way home. I'm in Flagstaff and went antiquing today.

I finished the Night Guardians series by Linda Conrad. Now I'm listening to Tony Hillerman's The Walking Wind. Hopefully, I'll get to review them soon.
