I'm so excited i can't stand it! Have to share!

I'm actually getting to interview Debbie Macomber this summer for Kwips! I was so bummed I couldn't go to her signing in Dallas last week since I had to go out of town for work. While not quite as awesome as getting to meet her in person, getting to interview her is so exciting. And her publicist was actually asking if I wanted to do it as a phone interview! (we do it through e-mail to make it easier on the author's schedules.) I actually would have LOVED to do that but I'm afraid I'd have been speechless once I got her on the phone. LOL

Hard to believe I went from never having tried one of her books 6-8 months ago to being a huge fan who has to read everything as soon as it's available. And to think someone as incredibly successful and popular she is, is willing to take the time to do an interview with little ol' me and my small website.

Right now the plan is to have the interview go live in July to give her time to regroup after her book tour and to give me time to get the rest of my reviews written and my questions put together.

Anyhow, I am bubbling over with excitement about it so I had to share.

Excited

I can see why you're excited, but I'm not surprised Debbie is willing to do an interview with you.  I don't know her personally, but I have met her and she is a very aproachable nice person.  Good luck with your interview.

Wow, that's awesome, Kelley!

Congratulations, I think you're going to be the envy of lots of people!  I love Debbie's books.  She always introduces so many interesting characters.

Now, it's probably a really dumb question, but can I ask you what Kwips is? I'm guessing either a radio station, a news publication, or a club.  Am I close?  Or way off? Embarassed

Kwips...

is the review site that Kelley owns and a couple of us here review for.  Not a dumb question at all!

WOW! You're in for

WOW! You're in for a treat. I went with my friend Carol to see and hear her when she was here. Wanted to ask you to go with us but knew you'd said you were going out of town. She was hilarious and had some very insightful things to say about growing up with dyslexia. It amazed me how she overcame everything to become the writer she is today.

thanks everyone. I'm really

thanks everyone. I'm really thrilled to get teh chance. I feel like I did sevferal years ago when I got to interview Diana Gabaldon for a site I used to be at. I was jumping for joy over landing that one too!

Deb - yeah I was SOOO upset I ended up having to go out of town and had to miss it. I'd have loved to meet Debbie in person. She seems like such a great person.

How cool!

How cool!  Congratulations!

I don't know Debbie Macomber personally, but back before I was published and I wrote a fan letter, she sent back a very gracious response.  And she's always been delightful and approachable at book signings and conferences where I've seen her.  I'm sure it'll be a great interview!

It is very exciting!  I was able to meet Debbie last week when she came to Houston on her tour and she was very personable.  I was impressed that she spent a few minutes speaking with us as individuals and that she was interested in everyone.

Got Books?

Woo-HOO!

Congratulations!!! and I'll look forward to reading your interview!  I'm like you: I'd never read anything of hers, and once I discovered her, I'm reading everything I can get my hands on.  Mom found NAVY HUSBAND at the library last time (I think....might have been NAVY WIFE), and I'm looking forward to that, too!  Cool

Thanks everyone! I'm thrilled over this. I got the promo packet in the mail today  and her publicist even included two of the knitting pattern books Debbie has collaborated on. I have never tried knitting myself but these patterns are gorgeous and almost makes me wish I did knit!

Crystal - if you have questions you are dying to ask her, e-mail them to me and I'll add them to the interview. Since you're part of the website you can do that! :-)

I just finished

A Good Yarn and Back on Blossom Street and they made me want to pick up my knitting needles again. Never mind that I have two unfinished projects -- 1 that's been waiting almost 8 years and one that's over 20 years! Knitting used to be my way to relax.

Have fun with the interview!
