Vacation

I just wanted to let everyone know I'll be away for a weeks vacation with my family. I'm renting a beach house so my kids, their spouses, and my two granddaughters can get together. It's been over a year since we've all gotten together so I'm really looking forward to it. I'll miss everyone and I hope I'll get a lot of reading in but with two little ones not sure. We'll be leaving Friday morning but I still have a bit of packing to do so thought I'd post this now. Talk to  ya when I get back.

I'm really

excited about spending a week with my kids and especially my two precious girls. Bailey will be three in November and Hannah is nine months.

enjoy the vacation Deb! I

enjoy the vacation Deb! I leave for my own beach vacation on the 25th. This year it's just my parents and me that week. Very unuusual. I'm going to miss having all the kids around to play with. But I've NEVER had a vacation just me and my parents and I never get enough time with them when I'm home with everyone else there too. So it'll be some nice quiet bonding time for the three of us. And I'll probably get a lot more reading done without the little ones there.

I'll be coming

I'll be coming home on the 17th, Kelley and will make sure you've got your Cindy book before you leave. Sounds like some much needed quality time with your parents. They'll probably enjoy having you to themselves for a bit.

Thanks

Nancy, I'm going to try to post some pics of my kids when I get back. So I can brag.

Have a great time, Deb!

Sounds like you've got a fun one planned, too!  I hope you and your family enjoy it!  Smile

I had a great

I had a great but exhausting time. I've not kept up with a two and a half year old for a week in a long long time. Bailey wanted Grandma to do everything for her. My daughter got a bit of a rest but I'm kinda glad to be back home to my quiet house.

Glad to hear that you had a good time.  I am sure your daughter loved the rest.

Too many years

Too many years have passed and I guess I'd just forgotten how much is involved in keeping up with little ones. I didn't realize I'd lost so much energy. My hats off to you Moms that are chasing little ones around all the time. I enjoyed every minute of my time with my kids but it is good to be back home. I'm sure in a few weeks I'll be missing them again. It was so neat sitting on the balcony with Bailey in my lap watching the fireworks on the beach. It was a special time for just us. My daughters came out the second night and watched but Bailey stayed in my lap so it was our time together. It was great! She went on an on about watching the flowers in the sky.

Flowers in the sky!

What a great name for fireworks. Bailey sounds like she is a real sweetie!

Glad to hear you had an awesome holiday with your girls and grandbabies Deb. Were you able to sneak in any reading, or was it to hectic with the little ones?

Didn't get much

reading in unless I can count Green Eggs & Ham, The Cat In The Hat, Horton Hears a Who, What Do You Do With a Kangaroo, and others. I only read one book listened to one at night when lights were out and listened to two on the drive down and back. Gotta get busy and read more.

Hi Deb - glad you had a good holiday

Penni counts the books she reads to her two, so why shouldn't you? - if they're not enough to count as a book, you could combine them with a novella to make up the wordcount Wink

Hi Deb

Awww, Your granddaughter sounds like a sweetheart. It sounds like you had a lot of fun catching up but I'm sure it is nice to get back to your routine.

Margie :)

I'm thinking about

adding them to a short story I'll be reading soon so it will make enough for a post. I'm starting to miss my girls already, but I am getting more reading in now.
