I got off work Monday morning on June 30th. This was the start of a week off from work. So my daughter, Paige, and myself drove out to Gander which is a 4 hour drive. It's a good thing I had the chance of a nap at work. The reason we went all the way out there was to adopt a sweet little puppy from the SPCA!
Here are a few pics of her. This is Taya!
Isn't she a sweetie!!
Now on top of having a new pup in the house I have also been sick. I could feel the flu coming on Sunday night when I worked, this was June 29th. So by that Tuesday I was feeling pretty rotten. My head was stuffy and my chest congested. Oh and all of this came with a nice healthy cough. So foolish like, I went a week and a bit like that before going to the doctor. Basically my week off was awful.
To make a long story short I was put on antibiotics which I have been on for 3 full days now. Plus, I had to have 1 mask each day for the last 3 days, had to have a steroid shot after seeing the doctor, and chest x-rays the next day. Now, I am finally starting to feel better and get some energy back. I had Mon & Tues night off work sick but I will be going back to work this weekend. I just hope I don't relapse.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to read much which is very disappointing. I'm hoping to get back on track with my reading ASAP!!

This is such a cute puppy. Is she part Lab? Does she get along with your other dog?
Hope you recover from the flu.

So sorry
So sorry you've been out of it and with a new puppy you need to be in good shape just to keep up with them. Thought I'd check the blogs one last time before we leave on vacation. Addicted to this site oh no, not me. Get well soon so you can enjoy the new baby.

She's beautiful, I hope you don't mind but I re-sized your second image so it wasn't running off the page.

Hope you get better very soon,
Taya is just adorable! Of course the pic of the 2 of them really says it all.
Congratulations on your new family member, and thanks for giving her a special home.

Thank You Everyone
Kaelee~~Taya is definitely part Lab and maybe husky as well but I'm not sure. The vet seemed to think she may be part husky. The lab in her seems to be dominant that's for sure.
Taya and Mya get along for the most part. Sometimes they are rough with each other but mostly they play. The little one can sure pick up for herself. Mya let Taya drink out of her water bowl that first night which impressed me!!
Deb~~Enjoy your vacation!! See you when you get back. PS~I'm addicted to this site as well.Sam ~~ I'm not sure who named her but we liked the name Taya and ended up keeping it. We always said that our next dog would come from the SPCA! After watching Oprah's show about puppy mills we felt even stronger about it.
Jayne ~~Thanks we think she is beautiful too! Of course I don't mind that you re-sized my second image. I managed to get the first pic a bit smaller altought I'm not sure how I did it. When I tried to re-size the second pic I couldn't do it.
Maybe one of these days I'll learn how re-size my pictures through this site. LOL
Cheryl~~Thanks. It was important to us to give an unwanted dog a loving home.
And thank you everyone for the well wishes!! I'm actually feeling much better today and I even think I'm pretty much ready to go back to work.

Awwww! She is so cute. Really pretty shiny coat. You can see the lab in her a lot. Have fun with your new baby. Yikes you were super sick. I'm glad you are feeling better.

What a sweetie-pie!
Congratulations on your newest member of the family. She's adorable. And your DD looks happy to have her, too.
I totally sympathize with you about having had the flu. It's no fun at all. Yucky stuff!
Anyway, glad you're feeling better now.

Oh, what a cute puppy!!
I hope you feel better soon! That sounds dreadful. Those steroids are not much fun, esp. not on top of everything else. Glad the doctor is taking it seriously though so you can get better. Will be thinking about you, Hope you feel better to read soon--- non reading sick is the worst.
