For the next three days, I'm being featured over at Jennifer's Random Musings. Each day she's highlighting a different aspect of THE FALL OF ROME
, including a 'Finish the Sentence' game with me, an interview with Rome, and a book giveaway. I'm hoping lots of people hop over to join the fun!
On another note, I recently received a half dozen emails from people who just discovered Evie! Some of them read EVERYBODY LOVES EVIE first, not realizing ALL ABOUT EVIE came before. I tried to assure them that reading out of order wouldn't diminish their enjoyment of the stories. (At least I hope not!) I do feel that though it's a continuing story, each story is an adventure of its own. Still, I understand preferring to read things in order. A few years ago I was in the middle of Suzanne Brockmann's OVER THE EDGE (and loving it!), when I suddenly realized there just had to be previous linked books. You can bet I snatched those up right away. Once I finished OVER THE EDGE (and recovered from the wild ride. LOL), I started at the beginning of the series, a series, BTW that's on my keeper shelf.
What about you? Have you ever discovered you started in the middle of a series then just HAD to go back to the beginning?

WRITING: I'm still in synopsis hell. It's going to be a fun story. I can feel it. I just can't seem to envision how the last portion will play out. Writing in circles. Ack!
RECREATION: Had breakfast and a 3-hour chat with 3 girlfriends I haven't seen in forever.
EXERCISE: Missed my walk yesterday, but nailed it Friday and Saturday. I'll be back at it today. The power walk I hated so much is beginning to turn into my recreation. :)
DIET: Even though I ate out, I ate smart. Veggie omelet and dry wheat toast. Good thing black coffee is zero points. I think I drank a pot!
MOOD: Cranky. Must finish that synop!

Of course!
That is how so many books end up in my TBR pile and TBB list. It is so frustrating when you really like a series and can't find the first books or so.
When I get a little money I buy books, and then if any is left I buy food and clothes..-- Erasmus
Out of Order
If I like a book and find out it's part of a series I'll go back and try to find the originals. Usually they'll stand on their own.
Wow, your eating seems really good. Of course this is probably why you lost ten pounds and I only lost five pounds even though I've walked a lot in the last couple of weeks. Who knew, that pint of Hagendaz really did make a difference - but I sure enjoyed it!
