This seems to be the best way to let everyone know about the situation with Dolly. My brother and his wife and in laws are fine except they are without electricity. The wind and rain had dropped dramatically before actually reaching them so everyone is fine if in the dark and a little soggy.
I am still getting wind gusts of 40 mph and rainfall along with tornado watches. I plan on staying home today. We are still getting this from the rain bands that are the outer rim of Dolly. Everything should be clear by the end of the day today.
Thanks for everyone's prayers.

so good to hear this news
Ellen so glad to hear that your brother and you are okay. I have been following the news and hearing about the hugh amount or rain falling and praying for all of you down there. I hope the flooding doesn't do too much damage. Since you live with hurricanes and are prepared I guess you just go with the flow but it must be frightening at times and tedious sometimes when you are without power.

I'm very glad to hear that your family is safe, Ellen!
I sure don't blame you for staying home either... to me, the worst thing would be to get stuck somewhere inconvenient during a tornado or spin-off. Not that any place is actually convenient for something like that...just that home is preferrable. So, I'd say you're a wise woman.
Take care and blessings to you.

Goodbye, Dolly
SO thankful you're safe! I pray you don't have too much damage! It looks just awful. It's years since I've been through a hurricane (I was a child), but I still remember how scary it was.

Dolly
Other than a few downed tree limbs (and not very big ones at that) and a dozen pine cones so far I've had no damage. But the wind (which is ever present here) is still a little high (30-40mph) in gusts.

Pine cones
Just thought I would add in case anyone gave "pine cones" a second thought. (After all I do live in South Texas on the coast.) I have a pine tree (that reaches higher than the roof of the house) that is about 20 years old and grown from seed.
