Our very own Deanna Raybourn won the RITA for Best Novel with Strong Romantic Elements for Silent in the Grave her debut novel of the wildly successful and brilliantly written Lady Grey series for MIRA books. Of course after hearing about her shopping expedition and finding the perfect shoes to match her dress as if by miracle at half price AND the only pair left in the store being her size, I'm thinking she owes her award partly to Jimmy Choo...ok, Jimmy and some phenomenal writing talent.
Did I mention that she was up against Nora Roberts? Can I mention that it's Deanna's FIRST book?? Dare I say....AWESOME and it couldn't happen to a nicer person.

If you haven't been to the RWA awards ceremony, you've missed something special. I remember being there in Denver and you could just feel the excitement and anticipation in the air that night. The ladies who won the Golden Heart awards and the RITAs. It was a special evening.
Congratulations to all those who were nominated and to those who won! Cheers!
