I liked this book. I do recommend that if it at all possible try to read this book first before Something Like Love. This book will provide the background information for two of the key characters in that book. As always I had a history class and I loved every minute of it. If Ms. Jenkins ever wants to go into teaching I suggest she do it as a history teacher. She can make history come alive and make it feel real not boring and unrealistic. I love her westerns the best, being from the Midwest (Missouri) it gives me a different perspective of the west and Kansas in general.
Irresistible characters and a story brimming with passion and excitement make Night Song a romantic delight.
A Traitous Heart
In 1882, Cara Lee Henson knows no soldier can be trusted to stay in one place-and that included handsome Sergeant Chase Jefferson from the Tenth Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers, who are being honored by her Kansas town. Rumor has it that Chase is definitely not the marrying kind. Dallying with the dashing man in blue could cost the pretty, independent young woman her reputation and her job as a schoolteacher. So Cara is determined to repel Chase's advances-even though her aloof façade barely masks her smoldering desire-for never before has she longed for a man the way she aches for Chase.
A Blazing Passion
Never before has Chase longed fro a woman the way he aches for lovely Cara Lee. The charismatic cavalryman has no intention of taking no for an answer. The strong-willed ebony beauty, however, will not surrender easily. But with his tender words and soulful caresses, Chase intends to conquer the reluctant schoolmarm's misgivings before he leaves town-and teach her how to love fully, sensuously and forever.
