Hero interview from Lone Star Secret, an August Love Inspired

Lenora's Lone Star Secret.jpg

Here is the first interview with the hero or heroine of the Love Inspired books for the month. I am featuring Lone Star Secret by Lenora Worth. This is the second book in the continuity series--Homecoming Heroes. Marta Perry had the first one last month called Mission: Motherhood. This continuity series is a tribute to our people who serve in our armed forces. There will be one book a month through December 2008.

Check out my blog where I have other interviews with authors and weekly drawings for free books.

Interview with the hero:

1. David, tellme the most interesting thing about you.

I’m really not that interesting. I’m a soldier and I’ve seentoo much to talk about. I’m a helicopter pilot. I fly a Blackhawk medevachelicopter. Or at least I did until my tour was up. Now I’m back in the states.

2. What do youdo for fun?

Fun? I remember fun. I’m not much of a social animal and Idon’t like crowds or fancy parties. I guess I just hang out with the guys orhave a quiet dinner with a friend.

3. What do youput off doing because you dread it?

Right now, I’m struggling with finding out the truth aboutwho my father was. My mother never told me about him. He pretty much left ushigh and dry. So I’m putting off finding out his name and maybe having aconfrontation with the man. It’s been building for years so I reckon now is thetime to get this out of my system.

4. What are youafraid of most in life?

See question number three!

5. What do youwant out of life?

I want what I never had. I want a family and I want to beable to raise my children myself, with love and support and a strong sense ofcommunity and church. I never had that. My mother was a good woman, but shenever told me the truth. I’ll never lie to my children.

6. What is themost important thing to you?

I want to continue flying choppers, maybe as a local pilotfor one of the hospitals here in Prairie Springs. I’m done with the army.

7. Do you readbooks? If so, what is your favorite type of book?

I don’t have time to read much but I do like action andadventure books. Lately, I’ve been reading the Bible a lot, thanks to gettingto know a certain blonde named Anna.

8. If you couldchange one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I’d know who my father was and why he deserted my mother andme. That’s what I’d change. That one thing would pretty much change my life—forthe good I hope.

9. Do you havea pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

No time for pets right now. Maybe one day when I settle downwith that family I want.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go andwhy?

I’d travel back to high school and I’d find Anna in thecrowd and get to know her. I never knew she was even around back then sinceshe’d just come to Texas from Russia when I was a senior in school. I thinkAnna and I would have had a lot in common—we were both lonely back then, Ithink. It would be nice to see her as a young girl. I reckon I can justconcentrate on getting to know her as a beautiful woman now. Maybe it’s bestthis way after all.
