Feels good to leave a Blog here after so long. To be honest, I quit posting on eHarlequin, as others have views different than mine (which is ok), but, unfortunately, it was not possible for an individual to be "Christian", "American", or "Patriotic", unless he subscribed to their worldview.
But, I am ME, and do not apologize for it. I am not rude, and I respect you greatly. All I ask for is the same.

Hey HJ. Sorry to hear
Hey HJ. Sorry to hear you're not posting. Don't know what issues you ran into. (or which side I'd personally fall on the debate)
Personally, I've been here at eharlequin and haven't discussed religion or politics, my book discussions haven't headed that way. I'm having fun as is, just talking about the books and styles I appreciate. Guess it depends what you use the community for, and the books you read may bring you right back into the religion/politics debate I guess.
Well... I wish people good luck in having peaceful and fun chats here.

Whee!
Of course, I'd buy BOOKS! Hmmmmm........a new ride with some hot wheels....a BIGGER swimming pool...better rags....
Then, of course, the stuff that I can justify, like paying off the boys' student loans and college tuitions...paying off the mortage...paying off the ride I do have.

Glad you're back, HockeyJock!
There's plenty of room here for differences of opinion. For every person who disagrees with you, there will probably be two who agree. Even if no one really does agrees, most friends I've met here on the site are tolerant to differences. We all like to read - so we have that in common, at least.

Hi Marty ...
I noticed you weren't posting and that your reviews were less personal
as eHarl is a web Community based on the love of romance and the HEA, and it's very much an international site ... I tend to keep my religious and political views to myself and try to keep my discusions based on the heros and heroines of the stories that we all love to read ...
the reason I love HEA is that it's a positive in a world that doesn't always have happy endings .... I come here to this place that loves romance and those ellusive HEAs because I like to read more of that and not about the "real" world that I can see on CNN or on other political forums .... so I tend to skip over the topics that get alittle off track in that way ... whether I hold the same beliefs or not ...
Marty, you're always welcome to be who you are .. as is every member here .... perhaps it's easier for some to remember that this is indeed an "international" community with very diverse political and religious backgrounds .... one thing that I love about romance books is that usually the world of politics is left behind and "lifes" struggles become the focus ..
good to "see" you back again ... and please share the books you've read .. I'd like to know which ones you've enjoyed

Oh btw... I don't think I've ever really talked to you HJ, but you know... your signature stood out to me. Made me laugh. I'm Canadian. You may have noticed we have a thing about hockey. lol. I passed that joke on to my brother and he loved it. "I went to a fight last night, and a hockey game broke out" is just priceless.

Ya know, HJ. I sometimes get the opposite impression. Go figure.

You must keep posting - you are the only one who has ever asked to be my friend!!
Everyone has a right to their own opinons. If everyone agreed with each other's thoughts it would be a very boring world.

RE: I THINK....
As a lad in Ireland there was some hockey, but not a lot (though the habit of stopping off at the Pub for an Ale afterward was/is fairly popular). But, once here in the U.S., I imagine growing up on the Canadian/USA border had a lot to do with my love of hockey (Texas has its HS Football [which for me literally is a different ballgame in the US] -- we have our Hockey!). Though the Hockey Hall of Fame is located in Toronto (I really like T.O.!), the National Hockey League (NHL) was originated and formed here in Michigan!

You know, I was just talking about you this past weekend, wondering where you'd disappeared to. I hadn't seen you around in forever but wasn't sure if it was because I've not been around much or if something had happened to you.
I missed seeing you around the boards and I'm glad to see you have come back. I always enjoy your posts and reading what you have to say and yes, you HAVE been missed around here! I look forward to reading your posts again.

Glad you're back!
I did notice you were gone but figure my posts must have turned boring or something.
I am always conscious of what I write and say...doesn't mean I don't get it 'wrong' for the web which is world wide but I do consider things. And that doesn't mean I don't have strong views on things...just that I'm careful on how I voice them here. That way while I'm here, I can have fun!
I am glad you are back---I still have that idea for a new book in my mind from you! I don't doubt you have more inspiring ideas to share.
Have a good one!

Welcome Back!
Glad to see you back. I hope you don't let anyone chase you away again. I know sometimes people can get "passionate" about a subject and not realize how their "passion" might affect the one's it negatively directed at. I've experienced a light version of that, myself. Like you, I retreated. But...glad you came back. Hope to see more of you. (((hugs)))
