in lieu of unity candle (flames would've blown out) we poured colored sand, each color repesenting each one of us, our of our own bottles and into our unified vase. the grains cannot be easily separated out, just like our union.

the sand idea came from my photographer who knew we had really wanted a unity candle but figured the sea breeze would blow the candles out (and would've too).
we are very happy and the day and ceremony was PERFECT. the Lord really blessed our day.
