I've been doing some research on the posh London pad of He-Who-Has-His-Sheets-Ironed... and I'm having a ball furnishing it to perfection...
One of my ultimate fantasies is to have a private indoor lap pool - heated of course and with a pool person to come and make sure the pump and water and whatever is all working ok (I never want to see the person - I don't have a 'pool guy' fantasy at all - I'd rather it be my personal haven) - I'd just love to be able to wander down to the basement pool each morning and swim some laps in heated luxury and then have some fabulous bathroom with a fearsome shower, a warmed robe to slip into and fresh pineapple after to refresh me... then I'd just settle in for the day's writing... sigh...
I wanted to take a look at some in posh London houses so I could imagine it properly - you've gotta love Google right? And you know, if you have the money, anything is possible. Just go to
London Swimming Pools and check out their portfolio... ohhhhh yes... they even have one that converts into a Concert Hall - I'm not kidding!!!

Imagination is more importent than Knowlege- Albert Enienstein love! A.Rosebeauty
Great pools
now if I won the lottery.
I agree he who has his sheets ironed needs a lap pool.
I also would love a conservatory where I could grow exotic orchids but that's more a girl thing

Flowers of the imagination!
I'm with you Rosebeauty - not that adventurous in real life - my day today consisted of lots of cooking too - but hey, that's where imagination is such a wonderful thing right?
Kaelee - I'm thinking the orchids could really work in the same space as the lappool - there could be a big conservatory extension so lots of nautral light into the pool and those wonderful smelling flowers? Oh yes - how sensual!!!!
I'd need a gardener as well as a pool guy tho...

Regency historical books
often talk about conservatories or orangeries(?). Some of the modern books give penthouse apartments a beautiful garden. As a peasant I have to be content with my backyard but if I had the money I'd be adding a conservatory to my place or at least a small greenhouse. If I had lots of money it could be an extention of my lap pool. I have gone back to the pool site and dreamed a bit more. I like the one you picked also. The moving floor concept is really neat as well.

Ah, fantasy...
it adds so much to life. I would love to add a sunroom on our house. One that is big enough to have a lap pool. Oh well, another lifetime.
Nancy
It will have to be another lifetime
i guess Sheandeen - yep, fantasy.... love it....
yeah Kaelee - I just love the name 'orangerie' - sounds so romantic - went to a few in England - I'd grow pineapples of course.... there is a wonderful conservatory/orangerie in the UK (I can't remember if its Scotland or England at present) that is the shape of a pineapple... I'm going to have to go Google it and put it on my blog now!!!!
