ok so personally i dont write for harlequins yet but heres my list of things i use to help me out in a jam ok and i hope it becomes useful to any of you who wish to write!
Baby Names Book: now it doesnt matter which kind you use but i personally use The very best baby name book By Bruce Lansky i Use baby name books because of the fact when im writting its hard to think of a new name for characters every single time with a baby name book not only does it help me name the character but it also helps me match a name of cultre for example if im looking for a name for my hero and lets say hes greek i search through the boys section and look for a couple of boys names that are greek until i find one i like if not i can always look under another name to see it translated in a greek name.
Surname websites: I use surname websites also because i seriously cannot think of any french last names or greek last names because thats not my background so i use the website behindthename.com it useful and it has a tab were you click surnames and it shows you all the diffrent countrey surnames.
Dictionarys: like i said before im not french or greek so of course i dont know how to speak these languages so i use ta da! language dictionarys! nuff said when you wanna put in sweet sentimates like mi amoure or agape mou these sure come in handy.
Pocket notebooks: I use pocket notebooks because of the fact that when im out eating in public resturant i dont want to have to jot down my notes on peices of napkins so i just carry my little notebook wherever i go just in case inspiration hits me on my way to walmart! trust me these do come in handy i was out with my fam one day and we were waiting for one of them to come back when low and behold i have an idea but no paper it was a good thing my dad had a small peice and i had a pen from my dolce bag because if not i would have a good idea lost.
Big notebooks: These are great! now with your small note pad of course you have your little notes you like to write but a big notebook is so you can revise those notes to your liking and re-write your plan then you add names and the whole thing falls in place!
Stament sized Hosehold files: now i used one of these last year to store all my homework and notices from school but after a while i started using it for my writting what i do is usually i like to write my drafts on paper then i revise it to my computer but in the mean time these drafts have to go some were and thats were the files come in! i also use it to store info on harlequins such as addresses and extra drafts i havent finished yet.
And last but not least lots and lots of pens!!!!
until next time peeps!

referance books
I found a book The Writer's Digest Character Naming Source book, that's really good. The author is Sherrilyn Kenyon. It's taken the place of my baby name books. Inside I found Arabic names, Anglo-Saxon, Celtic, Germanic, and etc. She also includes a reverse index. But what I really like is Sherrilyn Kenyon included the top 10 baby names from 1880 to 2003. It really comes in handy when you have a character who was born in the early 50's . You don't want a 55 year old by the name of Madison when her name should have been Nancy. She also puts in a few surnames and about them.
