Goodbye, Melissa...We'll Miss You

Desire Editor Melissa Jeglinski has bid us farewell.  I, like many of you, have enjoyed the wonderful books she has edited and the talented authors she has guided.

Feel free to leave your comments in appreciation of the contribution she has made to Harlequin and the romance genre.  We love you, Melissa!

You'll be greatly missed!

You gave me a chance to revise a book that needed work, then bought it, and I'll always appreciate that. I just recieved the glossy Korean edition of that book in the mail yesterday and each new little adventure on this publication journey is still a big thrill to me.

I'm glad I got the chance to meet you at BEA last year and I know you'll enjoy great success in your new career.

All the best!

Good Luck Melissa!

Being edited out of the UK I haven't had the pleasure of working with you, but many years ago I did get a rejection!  :-)  (A much deserved one as well.)  I've heard wonderful things from other authors though and I know you'll be greatly missed.

Best of luck in the new job!  I hope it's a fantastic experience for you!

Working with you the last few years has been fabulous! You are the best editor in the world and I'm really going to miss you, girl!

MJ!

Though I am so sorry you will no longer be my senior editor, I'm only happy I've had the privilege of working with you. You made quite a difference in my life when you bought me for Desire!

I hope with all my heart that you will be the happiest and most fulfilled you can be in your new direction. I have no doubt you'll be mega successful in anything you endeavor!

MJ!

On a host/editor level...you've made my job so much easier and...fun. I'll miss doing the editor pitches with you! I'll miss being able to grab you when someone has a question I can't answer.

But more than that, I'll miss the friendship that started before I was a host and has continued to grow. I'm not saying I'll miss the hugs, because I'm hoping to steal more in the future. Wink

*raises glass of iced tea* Here's to your new endeavor. I know that you'll be on the sidelines, but I'm positive of the talent you'll glean and the many books to be devoured in the future thanks to your keen eye and your generosity. You've made so many dreams come true and I guess it helps in knowing that by staying in the profession, that you'll still be doing what you love.

Best of luck and stay in touch!

Rae

Hey, MJ--I'm sorry to hear you're leaving, but that's always exciting to be moving on to something new.

I remember meeting you at a conference before I was published.  I was so impressed that you remembered a submission I had sent in for Silhouette Shadows (which was, unfortunately, closing at the time).  Not only did you remember it, but you remembered details about the story--and encouraged me to submit again.  I did.  Wink  Your enthusiasm and encouragement really impressed me.

Thanks!

MJ

Just wanted to pop by and add my thanks for all you've done with me personally, especially (as Paula mentioned) with the Diamonds Down Under continuity, and with Silhouette Desire as a line, and of course to wish you all of the very best in your new role as an agent in a new city.

MJ

Melissa, I'm very sad that you're leaving but very happy for you and your new venture. As Rae said, you made so many dreams come true for writers and I'm sure you will continue to do that.

All the very best.
