I'm a recent convert to audiobooks and I love them. I listen on CD in the car during my commute to work. It's not a very long commute so it takes me a long time to get through a book. I'm sticking to non-fiction in audiobooks. I've tried a few novels and have had to abandon them pretty quickly because of the reader, whereas with non-fiction the reader is not an issue. I've decided this is a good balance for me because in print books I'll always choose fiction over non-fiction. This way I get to read both. Current audiobook: Bill Brysons's autobiography. Loving it! Ooh, thanks Jayne! I have heard something about this tradition from blogs - I think it was Trish Wylie and Fiona Harper who were blogging for the Pink Heart Society last year. It sounds like fun. I'll look for my invitation and I'll be there.

I feel for you, Merri, and Donna too. I've just finished a course of major dental treatment with a prosthodontist and I did not enjoy it one bit. It was made worse by two cancelled appointments (by him) which stretched out the waiting time and nearly drove me crazy.

They have no idea what this stuff does to us, and we're not wimps. Hang in there, Merri.
