- Thanks, but I wish I could say it was05/15/2008 - 23:00
only school! Actually, I've not been having student problems...it's just all the things I'm involved with.
Tonight was my last "real" girl scout meeting as leader, and I thought it would be a happy/sad night. It was just a disappointing night.
Add that to the fact that my summer school curriculum is due and I'm no where close to done, plus the International Dinner/Bridging/Awards ceremony I'm heading for Saturday night, a VBS meeting to plan and hold Sunday night, music to choose for two services Sunday, PLUS all those end of year things at school, and well....
I'm a walking time bomb.
- 05/13/2008 - 21:42I just finished reading The Soldier's Homecoming a few hours ago. I must say, I bawled. I rate great books by two traits...can they make me laugh out loud or cry real tears. Guess you know where your newest falls!!!

LOL! I am within feeling distance of the earthquake centered in Illinois last week!
I'm not sure Canada is a reasonable distance to even drive 1/2 way!!!!!

How do you feel about living in a small town? To me, the upside to is that I have so many friends and family living close by. The downside is that I have so many friends and family living close by! LOL
But, if you're like me, you love your Mayberry town.
I actually live in a small town 20 miles from the small town I grew up in! This one is even SMALLER than my original one! Here I have the advantage of NOT knowing everything about everyone, but I "learn" a little more every year! DH's family is here. Not so excited about that. However, I like the fact that I can be involved in anything I want around here. There aren't any applications to be on a planning committee...not too many overly-wealthy people...love the fact that I don't HAVE to use correct grammar all the time...hate the fact I have to drive at least 1/2 an hour to the nearest Wal-Mart....hate that the nearest mall is 1.5 hours away...hate the fact that the nearest bookstore is 1.5 hours away...love the fact that my kids are being raised in an atmosphere of good 'ole hometown America.

"I will never allow my TBR pile to disappear again ... I will buy, beg, borrow if I have to"
"I will never allow my TBR pile to disappear again ... I will buy, beg, borrow if I have to"
"I will never allow my TBR pile to disappear again ... I will buy, beg, borrow if I have to"
Now, I'll just convert this to "My dw's TBR pile cannot run out again. I must buy her books all the time. I should routinely recommend trips to the city JUST to go to the bookstore." and record it for dh to listen to while he sleeps!!!!!
Actually, I do have 2 ebooks waiting. Unfortunately, my laptop cord won't reach a plug in from my fav reading spot, and the battery doesn't live long enough for me to get through the whole book!

a thousand or more books???? You must have a large house!!!!
We are moving in a little over a month, and I'm getting an "office/library" out of the deal! I can't wait! DH doesn't know yet that I want built in bookshelves on all the walls!!!! LOL!
Unfortunately, I need to buy the lumber, paint, and then the books (TBR) to fill them!!!!
