I can't tell you how many people have asked me that. Not like, hundreds, but at least four.

Sillies. Wink Rob Lowe can wear his tux at the beach if he wants to.

    ...they multiply!

I love discovering new authors...but then there's the backlist!

Have fun with your box of books. I love looking at and smelling books almost as much as I like reading them!

    Cheers,

My beloved sister had a baby girl yesterday. As I was standing in the darkened hospital room, holding that precious person and marveling over the joy of infants, I couldn't stop a tiny voice in the back of my mind that was shrieking with happiness that this wasn't my baby for once.

After my visit, I dropped my mom at home and went to my critique group where I drank gin and talked shop with my writer friends. I sighed a deep content sigh at the grown-upness of my family.

Definitely bank the reading days because our time will come! In the meantime, we'll do our best and squeeze the reading in where we can!

    Hi Articfrog,

My son and I were just discussing To Kill a Mockingbird this week. He asked me what my favorite book was and that's it. He wanted to read it. I was so tempted to dig my copy out but he's a little young for it. I hate to ruin things by handing them over before the kid is really ripe. Smile

We're reading Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry instead. Man is that a tough read-a-loud. My boys (and the hubby) are mesmerized, but it's just tough.

I think I mentioned up thread that my husband never read and was never read to as a child. He was practically in tears the other night over this book and was really regretting that he hadn't read it when he was a kid.

Have fun with your continued reading! Thanks for sharing your book thoughts!

    Hi Michelle,

Toddlers throw a kink into all the best laid plans don't they? (Brief pause while I reflect on that disastrous anniversary dinner that was meant for two but expanded to three. Yeah. Toddlers....Wink)

Maybe we need a banking system. During the days when you're living with a reign of terror toddler, you can store your TBR Reading Days. Then later you can take a few in a row.

Enjoy your little one! They all grow up eventually. ("Not sure this is an entirely good thing," says the mom of an almost middle schooler wistfully.)

    Cheers,

Sorry about the double-post. Maybe the computer thought this was a review and it was trying to help me cheat!

I always thought I read a lot, but now I'm not so sure. Still, I'm more than halfway to my 38.whatever books.

Too bad there isn't a way to count the times I've read my WIP. My output would quadruple. At least.

You guys are amazing. This is a wonderful cause. I'll keep at it.

    Cheers,

    Hi Star,

I've looked for Not Even if You Begged several times. I loved the cover copy and information I got from Amazon. I have to put an order in for it the next time I'm at Borders. They say they carry it but it's never there. I can't remember if you said you enjoyed it but I'm guessing yes since you have her next book on your list too!

Looks like you've been busy with your reading!

    Have fun,

Tammy--I love sharing books with my kids. I have boys so I rushed a few classics through when they were younger because I was worried they'd find them too girly. (Stuff like The Secret Garden.) It turned out they're up for anything! We've shared a lot of my favorites together and found lots of new ones to love as well.

I bet your daughter loves that her books and your books are sharing a home! Smile
