Sorry...  With tight deadlines and my son's graduation, I've haven't been doing a good job of keeping up with blogging and the boards lately... Frown

Yes, it looks as though you CAN purchase ONE GOOD MAN by itself w/o signing up for the entire SAFE HAVEN series.  I didn't know that.  It was my understanding you had to get the whole series, but yes, I see that it's available here on eHarlequin.

As far as I know the Safe Haven books aren't available as ebooks.  Yet.  Maybe at a later time?  I know all the current releases come out in print and ebook format.  I'm not sure that's the case with the special collections and other special releases.

As far as the other Taylor Clan books?  I know they've talked about re-releasing them, but I haven't heard anything definite yet.  I'll be sure to post it on my website (and here) if and when they become available again.

I know on the request discussion, they talked about re-releasing the whole Taylor Clan series as an e-book package, but I think that was just readers talking and not anything official from the ptb.  That'd be cool, though! Cool

    Thanks!

Cool, Ellen--thanks for responding!  I'm usually that way, too.  When I'm looking at a new author, the cover will catch my eye--but the blurb will help me decide whether I want to buy it and try it or not.  I've discovered several favorite authors that way. Cool

Thanks, Sadhbh!  Sounds like it's really the whole package for you--how a cover leads to a blurb, which leads to an excerpt, which leads to the book--maybe if one of those doesn't do it for you, you don't go to the next step?

And what a nice compliment! Cool  I'll keep writing them as long as they'll let me!

Thanks, Merri!  I love the term cover junkie!  A great one can add to my enjoyment of a book--one that doesn't fit the characters or doesn't make sense with the story distracts me a bit--I find as I'm reading, I'll flip back to the cover just to go "huh?"

I'm totally thrilled with this cover, too!  The art department actually used a scene I suggested, but they went out and found this hunk and added all the background and balance and atmosphere to make it look right.  I love the cover for the first Brotherhood of the Badge book, too--PROTECTIVE INSTINCTS.  Again, they used an idea of mine.  Doesn't happen often, but I must be on a roll.  I've definitely been blessed by the cover gods with my last several books from Intrigue and Blaze! Cool

Oh, gosh--you guys make me feel better, just knowing that I'm not alone in my frustration and stress. Smile

I did go to Waldenbooks last night and looked at anthologies, but nothing really jumped out at me.  Nothing hit my current mood, at any rate.  I did get a Romantic Times magazine and I'll read through it to see if there's something I want to order.

Any good anthology recommendations?  I'm in the mood for angsty emotional romance or romantic suspense.  Not too steamy--most of what I saw last night fell into the erotic romance category.  I have no problem with steam--it's just not where I am right now.  But I do need at least a little steam Wink.  No romantic comedies for me right now.  Read a great historical anthology last month, so I've got my fix of that for a while.  Will consider paranormal, though I'm not a vampire/werewolf kind of a gal.

I'm smiling--that sounds kind of like a personal ad--never thought of looking for books that way Cool.

    Thanks,

Sadhbh--wow, sounds like a long stretch of work without a break.  And adjusting to a new boss is always stressful, even if they turn out to be a good one.  It's just that change, and learning work styles/expectations/etc.  Good luck with everything.

Yeah, we're 6 a.m.ers here, too.  Frown So it gets hard to stay up late.  But I try to be good.  That's a good suggestion about the novellas/short stories.  Since I basically only teach writing/grammar anymore, I've been meaning to go back to some of my literature books and read some things in them to see if they still hold their magic for me--or check out some of the short stories I never got to teach.  Maybe that's a way to get a dose of fiction in.

Hmm...that's good motivation to spend some time at the bookstore and library looking for intriguing anthologies, too Wink.

    Take care,

I agree, Cady.  Recreational reading IS a stress-reducer for me.  Probably why I'm missing it so much right now.

I understand about late nights and getting the kids to bed.  Hope you're still getting some good sleep.  I love getting into a book that makes me want to keep reading late into the night.  Yet, I hate it, too.  Early the next morning when I'm still expected to function and have a productive day, at any rate Wink.

    Take care,

Thanks, Margie--I'm a pretty proud mama Cool

I think some of my frustration may have to do with spring fever, too.  It makes me extra antsy this time of year to do something just for me and take a mini-vacation like I find when I'm reading a good book.  I'm busy for most of the year, but though I've slowed down big-time from my pre-writing days, I usually find time to read something.  I've been pushing extra hard though to get ahead of schedule since the beginning of the year so that I can concentrate on my son and graduation next month without stressing over any deadlines.

Still...  I've got some new authors I want to read, three Debra Webb books (Intrigues and her latest ST), a Jo Leigh Blaze, a futuristic romance from EC (a new genre to me), and tons more in my TBR gathering dust.  They keep staring at me and asking, "When are you going to get to us?" Wink

Thanks for commiserating on reader frustration!  Hope you get a break at lunch soon and can find time to read and relax.

No, Olivia, you're not too late at all.  And I love your metaphor about exploring author websites being like going to an open house.  Sounds spot on to me.
