- aha my MOTHER just got a new02/05/2008 - 14:10aha my MOTHER just got a new computer, and I'm still stuck with this old one...but that's okay, 'cause it's not that old actually....anyways, I'm glad you like your new comp, isn't it so much fun?

Sherilynn - no kidding! "If only, if only..." runs through my mind when I read the books...but when I remember how unappreciative people were of outspoken females like ourselves, I relish this age we grew up in...
Terri - I agree, except I think only the lucky kids get laptops and phones at so young an age...my cousins kids are around 5 & 6 and the most they get is brand new clothing and tons of toys all the time...and they're the spoilt ones in the family...however, it could just be because of our culture...we're anglo-indian so my family is a bit more conservative than most people...
- 01/31/2008 - 17:45Some friends have shown me that desperation can be a strong motivation in and of itself

Terri - when you think about it, the oppressive way they treated women, the lack of hygiene, the primitive lifestyle...you tend to get a bit turned off by the idea...but then I realized that I would have my life made if I could just be a modern-day cowgirl....but with the encroachment of urbanization, I realize that isn't a very feasible idea, is it? However, if I were to go to a concert full of cowboys, don't think I'm going to hold anything back!
ugh, I'm just saying those things...in reality I'm as shy as anything when it comes to meeting guys...I'm one of those frumpy gals you see walking down the street...

Terri - as much as I'd hate to admit, I know some people who will go out with a hot a guy no matter how rude or obnoxious they are...some gals are really just that desperate...or maybe they think they can be the ones to change the guy, the ones who can reach the better man behind the facade....as for myself, I'm not that optimistic about men-- if they're when you meet them, they'll be a jerk when you go out with them...nothing short of a life-altering epiphany will change them...but in regards to Ugly Betty, I would be ashamed of my female counterparts if they were charmed by guys as obnoxious as that...I'm praying it doesn't happen in real life...and judging by everyone's comments, I would think no often-- thank gawd!
Kate - thank you for the name compliment!
...'crums from scum' < I absolutely love that phrase! And I definetly agree...girls should have more self-respect than to think a little is better than nothing....but then again, I'm an all or nothing type of gal, so my expectations might be a little high...but the Author should make an effort so that both parties feel deserving...
Cady - if some guy came up to me and tried a trick like that, I'd blast them...but on the other hand, I can see how some of those foolish chicks wouldn't mind that if they thought the guy was trying to flirt with them...I can see how desperate they'd get, but I'd offer the guys some classes on manners and how to approach a gal properly....
most guys don't realize that they could get so many more gals if they were just polite, respectful, and good at conversation, or at least attentive to what the other girl was saying...being a good listener is a great plus, so they don't even have to be very good at talking...thinking of all those stupid schemes just to attract attention is so stupid...
that reminds me, I read a book a while back called Loving Challenge by Carol King...it's set back in Victorian times (at least I think so)...at one point, the Hero really screws up big and then doesn't seem to show any remorse until a bit later....the Heroine, being a respectful maiden, demands more from him, really testing his strength...anyways, I like the way she explains it, how a guys needs to be able to lay down his pride and humbly ask forgivness when he's in the wrong, otherwise it would be no different than saying sorry to a dog or a horse that you've mistreated...read the book everyone, I think you'll all really like the heroine...

Liv - holy wow, I'd say lucky you! I would like to say that I'm one of those people who look at the inside of a person first, but I'm not...their looks will attract me, and if I find that I don't like what kind of person they are on the inside, then I'll be turned off...I won't find them so good-looking if they're not good people...(that I know for sure from experience...I used to find this guy I worked with very good-looking -- as did many of the women I worked with -- but when I discovered how arrogant he was, I just couldn't see him as good-looking anymore)
I used to think I was superficial (and I still am to some degree) but I changed my mind when I found myself attracted to guys who I didn't at first think were attractive, just because they had a great personality...I think that a gal can find a not-so-handsome guy attractive just because they're great guys...he grows on you...

Christa - mmm, I'd love to go on one of those long road trips with a trucker...but then again I've always liked long trips, so that would be a lot of fun for someone like me...
Kate - you should go, it's pretty amazing....but I agree that it's become too touristy now, so you should go for the experience (and go for the Maid of the Mist tour...I'm pretty sure that's what it's called)...and that way you'll know what it's all about...it really is quite amazing...
- 01/27/2008 - 21:30at least us real women have more pride than that! (thank gawd!
)
- 01/27/2008 - 18:04omg yes! I forgot about Bones! the guy in that is B-U-I-L-T!...I saw an episode once where he went undercover and entered street fighting and he was fighting some dude....VERY nice posing I thought...
- 01/26/2008 - 23:05I know how difficult it is to lose weight...I've been trying forever now, but it's like trying to get Free Willy to call Jenny Craig...it's even worse when you're going through a tough time...I think you should just let yourself go until your back on your feet again, and if you want, even right now, whenever you feel like munching, just pick up an apple or any fruit and just eat it...you can never get fat off fruits, and they taste good and act as good snacks...although I'll admit that I still can't do even that much-- the chocolates taunt me far too much...but for now, don't even bother worrying about it...one problem at a time, otherwise you might feel as if you have too much to deal with...
