Thanks, Wroxi :-)
I reached my base word count earlier in the day, and I'm now over 10k. *snoopy dance* I'm gradually winding down my final chapters, and tonight after my toddler is off to bed, I'm going to try working on it a little more.
Congrats on the 15k! It sounds like you're going strong. I checked your profile and it sounds like you know what you're doing - 4 books! Very inspiring. That totally rocks.

ROFL!!! Cole, that's priceless. Kids might not admit it, but they like to have that anchor to mama, I think.
Have fun choosing a new phone. That's like the ultimate in accessory shopping. Hehehehe!
We just renewed our phones yesterday. Or rather we ditched Alltel, so that meant new phones. We had to do something though. Hubby's working out of town still, and our Alltel phones didn't work in his current service area. We had to change that asap. Not being able to reach each other is out of the question.
We ended up with a set of Sony Ericssons. Sweet hubby, he picked out a pink one for me. I love it. We set up our ringtones yesterday evening and he showed me how to check my email with it - oy, I could see that becoming a new obsession. lol
Poor, Kia. lol Congrats on that running power!

Hey Jodie,
I'm sorry to hear your mom's in the hospital. That can be very exhausting and stressful in itself without adding in the driving and brain drain caused by waiting on doctors. :-(
Sometimes I get so busy or wrapped up in home life, I lose all my creative edge. I used to drive myself crazy and force myself to write this or that to keep a scheduel, but over time I've noticed fighting the muse when she's on strike does no good but to stress me out further.
Give yourself some down time, and your creativity will charge up a lot faster. The stories will be there when you get back. Keep a notebook nearby incase a character starts talking, and then attend to business. Or get some rest.
I usually read a book or two. I think it's the whole act of hearing someone else's character voice in my head. LOL Whatever the case, I find this helps my muse tremedously.
BTW, congrats on your Big Finish 2 win! :-)
- 05/10/2008 - 09:52This is the best post about writer's block I've ever read. I hope you don't mind me linking to it?

Hey, Cole, nice picture! My first purchase after publishing was a laptop, although I had to get it on payments. LOL I'm definitely a laptop person now. Especially with kids, having a laptop makes it easier to take your work with you. Too, they have these wireless modem adapters now that you can plug right into your USB port so you can have high speed net anywhere you go. It's really convenient.
Pom Pom swishing for your future successes! Definitely "when" and not "if". :-) Let's chat soon.

Awesome to meet you both! Jodie it sounds like you're almost to the finish line! *pom pom cheer* Good luck to both of you with your stories!
Right now mine is a few hundred words short of 13k, but I'm going back through my first draft now, doing a bit of rearranging and axing some of my crutch words: as, +ly words, like, still, just, etc... so I'm not sure what the word count will look like in the end. Too, I think I may have to rewrite the final scene. It reads like I'm missing something. Yikes! I'd hoped to have it cleaned up by the weekend, but I don't think I'm gonna be able to do the whole thing by then.
Jodie, I'll be pitching a paranormal romance that still currently working on to an agent. I have the book written to about chapter 5, but it's plotted through to the end. If all goes according to plans it will be my first full length novel, which I'm hoping will end up with Luna or Nocturne. We will see. *fingers crossed for luck*
- 02/15/2008 - 21:31I usually just lurk on the forums, and post occassionally. I'm never quite sure where I should jump in on going threads and conversations. Even so, the thing that stands out most to me about the eCommunity here is the reader/writer support. Even when lurking, it's very encouraging and motivating. Good stuff bound.
