Love the picture of the cat.  I have a soft spot for cats of all sizes and colours.  I have a calico that is almost 20 years old and she is a real dear, although she doesn't get along to well with the other cats in the family.  Thanks for your many  kind comments on my book reviews.

Not much of a hockey fan but I remember my dad listening to the radio or watch the Hockey games on Saturday night.  The stars then where Brian Hextall from Manitoba and the Howes from Saskatchewan.  Of course I think there were only 6 teams playing at that time.  If I remember correctly, Lord Stanley was married to one of Queen Victoria's daughters.

I know how hard it is to lose a furry friend. Over my the years I have had many cats and have had most until they are 14 years or older. My son gave me his Rottreiler to care for when he went to New York for school, I had Sarah for over 5 years and was devastated when she developed bone cancer. I knew they are all waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge so that we can cross it together. But always remember the love it gave you while you had it and all the happy memories.

I read books for my personal enjoyment and actually do not like to think about rating them.  This year for my personal use to remember books when trying to figure out my top ten I am putting a number after my books in my records but not in my blog as it is for my information only.  Also what I give is my personal opinion to a book based on my likes and dislikes not a book review as I wrote and marked for many years.  When I buy a book I look at the backcover and the cover to see if I think I might like it.  That is why I only write the backcover blurb and my opinion on the books I read as I don't feel I need to rehash all that has been written again.  In doing that I am afraid that I will give out too much of the story and spoil it for somebody else.

I usually read the dedication but do forget at times.  The last one I really remember was in a Lindsay McKenna book and she thanked her mother for teaching four turkeys to fly like eagles.  I really enjoyed that.  Another I remember, but forget the author, was about meeting a friend at the Rainbow Bridge.  As a hopeful believer of this bridge I hope to meet many of my friends there.
