Yes, it is fantastic that we can travel the world in our own home.  I have one book of hers in which she told how to make shephard's pie.  I tried it and it was delicious.  I think that was the appeal for me more than the romance when I was young.  Being cooped up on a farm in rural southeastern Ohio, I dreamed of travel.

Did you like Charlotte Lamb?  I loved some of hers also.  She seemed to always be pushing the envelope!

I also like Violet Windspear (I think I spelled the last name correct).  There for a while, I wanted to live on a sheep station. Laughing  I always bought all of her books.  Have no idea about how many she wrote.

I do blog the older books I read, although I have not blogged any this year.  I need to do that.  My late dh & I purchased the contents from a used book store one and had them stored.  We lost a lot of books in a flood, etc over the years.  I still hit flea Markets and watch e-Bay for books I am looking for.  I'll start looking for the book you need.

Penn - It is a shame you do not live closer as I am sure I have lots of books you would enjoy.

I agree there are times the thinner books are perfect because they can be read in an afternoon in the swing.  I also have some books that are not romance I want to read.  Our county fair is next week and so I will be busy with the girls and their projects, as well as my own quilts I am entering.

It looks like August is my only non-hectic month of the summer, and I plan to enjoy all of it.

I love reading Desire and Presents.  I used to have a complete set of the Desire books when they were solid red covers.

Penn - I hear ya!  My sister is visiting this summer to stay with dd while I work.  She told me last night she loves to read all of the books I have piled on the computer stand.  (That is my TBR pile.)

Same way with walking, ever since I decided to do it, it rains almost every day, so hard it is crazy to walk in it.  I have to get moving soon though.  My sister teaches languages and occasionally I will but them in French or Spanish for her to read.  She loves it and says it helps her retain  her fluency.

It seems we are all very busy.  I have my Girl Scout camping trip this month.  And taking care of loved ones is never easy but I figure you earn gold stars in heaven for doing it!

Hugs to everyone!  I hope you enjoy your weekend and get some rest!

LOL sadhbh! I have been reading alot also, maybe I can get caught up blogging this weekend.

Jodie - feel the same way. There are times I would like to scream. How is your mom doing? I took care of my late DD for years for various ailments and always worrying about the health of a loved one is added stress on top of everything else we have to do.

My late DH never threw away any card, art work from Nancy, etc., so now we have a huge section of our garage with items made by her. I love the ash tray story. My mom still has in her sitting room a picture I painted.  Every time I see it I cringe, but she loves it and said daddy did, so I guess it stays.  Smile

DD asked what I wanted and I wanted a weekend with her & me and none of her friends so we can enjoy some games, etc.
