2360 The Greek Tycoon's Wife Kim Lawrence Harlequin Presents Back Cover: Nikos Lakis is the ultimate Greek Tycoon. He's cool, controlled, and definitely sexy - and he's also married to a woman he hasn't seen since their wedding day. Katerina may be his wife but she's never been his lover ... until their accidental reunion ignites an uncontrollable passion! Is it time for the billionaire to bed his bride?
Favourite Quote: 'Are you asthmatic?' Nikos asked.
'No, just fat and unfit.' My Review: She paid the hero to enter into a paper marriage with her, so that she could get her inheritance. They never saw each other again after the ceremony. They meet again because they both are considering a divorce: and he turns out to be a college friend of her new fiance. They taunt and torment and argue with each other, striking wonderful sparks off each other. They end up in bed. The hero realizes the next morning that he can't let her go back to her fiance. He is devious! He invites her fiance up to the hotel room, drops his towel, and gets back in bed with the heroine, deliberately contriving to have her fiance find them in bed together. Got to admire him for making sure he got the heroine to end things with the fiance, that was a sneaky deliberate determined move. It was a rat bastard move, but *sigh* alpha male! When he finds out she's pregnant, he also shamelessly guilts her into committing to marriage to him, saying she'll be responsible for his father's death and their child being an outcast... tee hee! It's adorable how fierce and possessive he is of this woman who is his wife. You'll love this one. Rating: 5/5 stars, keeper! Yum yum!

2638 The Italian's Wedding Ultimatum Kim Lawrence Harlequin Presents Back Cover: Alessandro Di Livio is fiercely protective of his family, and he's determined to keep gold-digging Sam Maguire away from his sister's husband…even if it means seducing her himself!
Sam is no femme fatale—in fact she's a virgin! But under Alessandro's expert touch she succumbs to one night in his arms. And when passion leads to pregnancy, Sam knows that Alessandro will do whatever it takes to have her as his wife and their baby as his heir!
My Review: Mmmm. I really liked the dynamic between the hero/heroine, it was combatative, sparks flew, insults hit the air, and they got grabby! The hero was a man you could like and respect, yet he was also sexy and had an in-your-face aggressive side (which I enjoyed). Case in point: the hero didn't enjoy being hidden away in the heroine's bedroom when she had guests, so he unbuckled his belt and unbottoned his pants and swanned in mid conversation complaining about her leaving him in bed. *grin* I liked how the hero reacted to the heroine's feelings for another man, he was possessive but determined to have the heroine, even if that meant letting himself be used by the heroine for sex. There were many moments where I just felt the warmth in the hero's feelings for her. Nice innocent heroine: she was the type who only had sex if she was in love, so it made sense for her to have avoided experimentation. Great read! Rating: 4.5/5 stars, very good. I'd mark this a KEEPER. (the only somewhat negative thing is that there were "lulls" where plot development took precedence over passion/intensity for a few minutes.) - 05/16/2008 - 15:49
A few of Lucy Monroe's books have made my KEEPER list, so I'm inclined to want to read more from her. :)
I love reading reviews of HP books, since the majority of the books I read are HPs, so I love seeing people review the books I will/have read.
This one sounds nice

Welcome to the challenge, I hope you review more books! I'm a big Harlequin Presents reader, so I love reading other reader's reviews... it helps me decide what books to read next. :)
Hope to see you around more!

I label books KEEPERS so that I have la creme de la creme (imo) to recommend to friends and eventually re-read myself. When I read 100s of books, it's good to be able to sort out what books were PURE GENIUS (and I have two books that I've labelled "completely offensive plot imo, never read again" lol) I do intend to eventually come back to my keeper list, and re-read the odd keeper because hell, if i enjoyed it so much the first time, it's a sure fire read that I know I'll love the second time (if i am in a bad mood or have no new books or good books, I'll go back to the keepers)
- 05/14/2008 - 18:46Tee hee. I know what i would prefer in your position, I'd be selfish and read! LOL. Reading comes first with me. Though if I was making posts, the posts I'd be making around the forum would all be my comments on books other people reviewed (i.e. thanking them for bringing that book to my attention and lifting it to the top of my TBR pile!) ... so for me it all comes back to "what's the next book Janet will read".

w-w-w... about the JELLO thing... you aren't by any chance a fan of "The Office"? Jim actually has a running joke where he plays pranks with jello at the office.
Now come on Janet - we can share can't we??!! ;)
Ah the royal we.... *is still possessive*
No one else is shouting the names of their choice from the rooftops... so I'll sit on who I chose. *grin* (If wishful freudian slips only came true...)
Actually I'm planning to share a few delightful pics of the delicisous dude you guys have been suggesting to us on my other blog in the next few days... be sure to pop on over
Tee hee. I'll be interested in seeing the pics! Mmmm yummy men...

Congrats!
(and btw, I don't regularly read HRs, but this sounds interesting, I love friends-to-lovers stories, best friends make the best partners in life!)

Donna.... I don't mind a little cry here and there.... I guess the reasons for the sadness matter! Illness, is ok. Cancer in a romance, not so ok given the huge amount of funerals I've had to attend for cancer in my family and circle of friends. Betrayal/Infidelity... excuse me while I run in the opposite direction!
The books that have made me cry recently are Presents books with infidelity/betrayal, where the poor heroine was crushed and had to get over him sleeping around. Grr! If I see much more of that, I might have to jump lines! Or just get really really good at screening books before I read them, to find out which ones contain infidelity and avoid them like the plague! I read "The Mistress Wife" by Lynne Graham and it had me sobbing at the disillusionment of the heroine! So sad! I went on a rampage of "happy innocent reads" after that and read 10 books wham-bam fast to get the bad taste out of my head.
I know you write for a different line, so your books probably aren't like that! Hee. I should branch out more and give 'er a try. I do love Presents for the passion... but I might need a Romance fix to give me a little faith in love and fidelity again!
Vince... I'd never heard of that website before. I'll have to check it out. Do they sell $1 ebooks or print books? It would be best to get ebooks because shipping probably adds up. Might be a good site for hard to find books that are on my "wish list".
