- Yes.. I read them...01/18/2008 - 18:30
Hmm.. must be on people's mind. On one of my yahoogroups this was discussed.
I enjoy reading acknowledgments and end notes. My all time favorite was the one that Suzanne Brockmann wrote in dedicating a book to her son. It was wonderful. Here's the link to her dedication that she shared along with her countdown to the release of Hot Target.

I have a blog on LJ that I very infrequently update now. I have a blog for our experiences in Australia which I've been slow in keeping up to date. Now I have a blog here. I'm not using this blog much but I am reading some of the forums.
I don't have time to try to keep another blog up to date. I am working on making sure I blog about the books I read since I would love to reach over 100 books for the year. Last year I was going to join the challenge but got bogged down in writing reviews of the books I read.
There just isn't enough time in the day to keep up with all the reading that one can do.
- 01/15/2008 - 00:41I have a thing about posting pictures of myself. Besides the point I hate my picture being taken, I'm a very private person. I do have an avatar I use when chatting on YIM. I'm using a picture of Melbourne.

I love your description of an alpha male with a sense of humor. I don't like heroes who are so serious they can't see the fun side of life. A little angst thrown in is always fun.
Cant' wait to look for your books.

Since I just started reading for the year... I'm up 4 Harlequins to none. I'm trying to get friends to do the reading challenge but they don't think they read enough Harlequins but it truly is amazing how diverse their publishing is. I know I read a lot of HQN and Mira which fall in the Harlequin family.
Good luck keeping up the 50/50.

I've had this conversation on several different yahoogroups I'm on. I am a die hard keeper. What I am trying to do is catalog my books to see what books I have. I have done the unspeakable of buying a book I already have because they changed the book cover or worse yet... the title of a previously released book.
I have authors who are auto-buys and auto-saves. I'd say about half of them write Harlequins and most of them at one time or another in their writing career wrote one or two books.
I've worn my copy of Anne of Green Gables to pieces. I've had the book since I was 13. (I'm beyond that now. :) )
Why I reread is .. comfort reads. Keepers have chapters or scenes that are wonderfully done. There was a few months last year when I tagged passages since I don't write in my books. Some books are peppered with tags. One sign that books makes it to the keeper status.

I don't think I could do it.. not buy a book all year. I am trying to be good and not purchase any new books while still living down under but that will only be for 4 1/2 months.
I brought so many books back with me I'll never be able to finish them all. That isn't counting the numberless book in my TBR pile behind me on the floor. (Living as an expat means not enough bookcases. :) )

I put down books that I really want to read. That's not to say I'm reading any of those mentioned now. :)
