Thanks, Tammy!  I think I was trying to make it harder than it needed to be when I tried to do it myself.  :)

Thanks so much for the help.  I appreciate it.  I'm gonna try that now and see if I can get it to work.

I know how to post a book cover in a blog entry or comment, but how do you get them in the 'What I'm Reading' section of your profile?

    Thanks,

    Lynn

I'm going to continue with the series I was already reading.  My books will be:  The Texan's Business Proposition by Peggy Moreland, The Texan's Secret Past, The Texan's Contested Claim, Tex Appeal-Kimberly Raye, Alison Kent, Cara Summers, The Cop by Cara Summers.

I hope this counts.  I have a few others if I get that far.

    Hi Misty,

I came across your blog post and thought I'd offer what I could.

That's awesome that you're working on a story and aware of the possibility that you might be over thinking it.  I've had the same problem myself.

Being aware of obstacles, whether we plant them ourselves, or they come from outside influences, makes them easier to acknowledge and overcome.

You mentioned that you like the Nocturne and Blaze series.  I like those, too.  Would your story fall into one of these categories?

Do you keep a journal or diary?  If so, try to let your writing be free flowing like those entries.  Don't over think, just write.  You can always go back and fix things later.

Set daily/weekly writing goals and meet them.  Reward yourself for goals met.  See if that helps get the words on the page.

If you think you'd do better outlining before you write, try that.  There's any number of ways to do it, but you have to find what works best for you.

A critique group might be helpful if you aren't already in one.

Hope this helps.  Good luck with your story.

    Lynn

This is my favorite cover right now. Also, my first time to post a book cover, so I hope I did it right.

I've definitely bought books because the cover caught my eye.

On the Wings of Love looks interesting.

This is a great idea.  I actually have a t-shirt that I got at Murder By the Book in Houston that has an Archie Goodwin quote on it - "Go To Hell I'm Reading!"  Love that shirt.

One of my favorite memories of Valentine's Day was in 2004 when it snowed most of that day.  Both of my boys bundled up and made a snowman and had snowball fights.  It was fun.

I've gotten those "love coupons" before as a gift for hubby.  Last year, I bought those red rose petals in a box.  Those are an easy and fun way to set a romantic mood.

This year, he'll be getting a DVD.  I accidentally messed up his recording of The World's Fastest Indian when it was on tv the other day and he wasn't too happy about it, so I decided right then that I'd just get him the DVD as a gift.

Oh, and what Harlequin character would I want to spend Valentine's Day with?  Hmm...I can't think of a specific hero at the moment, but maybe one of those rugged cowboys.
