I suggest that you listen to the Harlequin Romance podcast which is featured on this site right now. I listened to it today and I think it's great. The editors (Kimberley Young and Meg Lewis) answer lots of the questions that new writers have about the line.

Oh, Liz, it was lovely. I cried too.
Definitely more emotional than I used to be, Fiona. I don't know whether it's loving Romance, or age...

I love mine too! Tonight we had Irish Stew from the slow cooker. Not completely authentic, but it tasted good enough to me. And coming home from the office to a hot meal, ready to serve...ah, bliss.
I listen to audio books on the drive to the office and back. It's not a long journey, but I enjoy getting my twice-daily instalments. It's like listening to a serial. Not enjoying the current one much, though. Hoping the next one will be better.

I'm reading Victoria Alexander's What A Lady Wants. I heard her speak at lunch in San Francisco and found her so entertaining, I just had to read the book to see if her writing voice was similar in tone.
It is! So far, I'm loving the book.

Well, Rae, a bunch of us have been at the Romance Writers of Australia national conference in Melbourne, and it's been busy, busy, busy, but fabulous.
It was great to catch up with friends, and meet new ones. Hi, Michelle!
Now it's back to work for all of us.

Don't we miss it when we don't have it? I got back from San Francisco to find we'd been migrated to a new broadband plan and my modem wouldn't work with the new one, though I didn't realise this till I'd pulled out my hair trying to make it work and had a head full of settings for this and that.
Finally, I have access again, but only wired. For some reason, wireless won't work. I'll make do with that for now. It does seem faster than before.
Off to the Australian conference this week and this time I'm not taking my laptop. I hope I still have access when I get back.

Greetings to all from San Francisco, and congratulations to Donna on the BBA win!
My first RWA and it's so much bigger than I could imagine.

I'm going, for the first time. Trying not to get too excited because I have revisions to do before I leave. Ok, back to the cave.
Will look forward to meeting you in Melbourne in August, Michelle.

Thanks, Donna! That's good to know.
A project with another author? Sounds intriguing. Good luck with it.

Fantastic to hear about the fluffy kitten, Liz. Sorry to hear about the pineapple, though. I really thought it would be easier after 50 books!
Welcome, Euri. Glad you found us.
I empathise on the 60-hour weeks, Mulberry. That's what I've been doing too - and it explains my absence from here for a little while. It's nice to be back.
