Hope and Beckie, I'll say a prayer for you.

Please remember my mother-in-law in your prayers. She is having numerous health issues. She's seeing 4 different doctors for various  things. She twisted her ankle and is worried about being able to make to the beach for our daughter's wedding. We keep telling her she'll get down there even if we have to rig up a chair and carry her down like a queen.

I have to report that I didn't make my goal, so I have to set a new one. My new goal is to have my proposal done by Nov. 15. I'm in the middle of getting ready for my daughter's wedding--9 days and counting. Since we're having the reception in our yard, I'm busy doing yard work. In between the wedding planning, I've been driving my mother-in-law back and forth to doctors. So my goal plans  were completely shot.

I've been home for a week but just now getting a chance to come over here and post. The conference was great. Sorry I didn't get to have breakfast with everyone on Thursday. I was staying with my daughter who was in town for business. On Friday morning after getting settled in my room (had been staying with my daughter at her hotel) I went to breakfast and sat at a table. Who should be there, but Anita Mae. It was so good to meet you. I hope you have a safe trip home. I did my traveling pre-conference.

That is so cool that you do your own canning. My mom used to can stuff from our garden. For many years I had my own garden, but I froze everything. We had a huge freezer. Now that we live in Florida, I don't do any vegetable gardening. I haven't gotten the hang of the seasons here. Besides, gardening takes a lot of time. I tried to grow a couple of tomato plants, but the summer heat fried them, and my fall planting didn't do much better.

As far as saving on groceries, I always try the store brands. Sometimes, they are good and can save you some money. I always look for sales and use coupons whenever I can.  I'm just glad we're not trying to feed a growing family. I'm shocked almost every time I go to the check out at how much it costs just for my husband and me.

Thanks for the prayers for my brother George. He's doing a little better, but he's still in pain. It is a slow recovery because they discovered infection resulting from the operation.

I made my goal to get my revisions done before RWA. I mailed them off the day before I flew to SF.

My new goal is to get a proposal done by the end of September.
