Okay, let's see what I've missed as I've been running around like the proverbial chicken without a head.

Yay, on the raise, Lori, but yikes on the two bosses.  I'm admin assistant for two ladies, and they often both want me to do something for them at the same time.  It can be quite the juggling act.  But I bet you handle like a pro.

How's the baby doing, Michelle?  Has that tooth made an appearance and stopped tormenting him - and you?  Congrats on the ms being accepted.

That sucks about the toxic coworker, Cearha.  There always seems to be one in every office.   So far all the ladies I work with seem nice, but I can see where a couple of them might get a little catty.  Most of the men still act like I'm invisible.  I don't know what's up with that, but I'm not bothering to make an effort any more.

Hoping your hubby hears some good news soon, Dee.  And glad the computer fix went well.

Good luck to your DH, too, Christyne, and have loads of fun at your book signing.

Hugs to your mom, Trish.  She seems to take one step forward and two back.  Here's hoping it's all forward from now on.  Do you still have the kitty?  My DH did the same thing to me when we were first married.  On Halloween, and we had over 200 kids come to the door and I had this teeny, petrified kitten attached to me the entire night.

    Hey, Shaz!!!!   Smile

I'm trying not to stress because I'm no where near ready to leave on Saturday.  Not only have I not started to pack, I still have to do laundry, and colour my hair, and do my nails, and clean the house and groom the dogs and program the PVR and make notes for the kids and....   Surprised

Guess I better get off this computer and get at it then.  There's 24 hours in the day, as my hubby likes to remind me.  See y'all in a couple of weeks.  Joyce  Smile

    Have a wonderful day, Kate.

I'm running behind - have too much to do - but will pop in once more before I leave for vacation.

I feel so sorry for little ones when they're in pain.  They don't know why it hurts, they just know it hurts.

Michelle W, I hope a solution for your little one's tummy troubles presents itself soon.

And hugs to Dee for double teething woes.

Trish, I'm glad the meeting went well and hope the meds work for your DD.

I have mixed feelings about my new job.  The work is easy enough, no stress there, but I was hoping to have a bit of social interaction too.  This is a very cutting-edge company and I'm pretty sure that I'm the oldest in the office, maybe one guy is older.  Most of the employees are guys and they basically ignore me, not even a hello or goodbye from most of them.  The three women are pleasant, but because I don't get breaks or anything, there really isn't an opportunity for small talk.  DH thinks it'll get better once I'm there longer, I hope so, I feel rather isolated in my little cubicle all by myself.

My DS has been accepted to an excellent university here in BC, but my DIL won't hear back whether she has or not for at least another month and she isn't confident about it.   She's been offered a full ride scholarship to a university in Orange County, but it doesn't have the engineering courses DS needs.  This sure hasn't been an easy process for them.

I saw my doctor today and besides the fact that I have a large cyst on my ovary (which has nothing to do with anything), the ultrasound looked good.  What I'm having is spasms in my UT.  Don't know why.  She's given me some medication to take that might help, but because I'm in that clinical trial, I have to have it okayed by them first and they can't do that until Monday.  The new medication might make me sleepy, so my doctor wanted me to try it over the weekend to make sure everything's okay before I go to work next week.  *sigh*  Nothing is ever easy.

But hey, it's Friday, the sun is shining, I have beautiful new windows and DH just got a promotion - no raise in pay but better position and benefits.  Really can't complain.

Have a great weekend, everyone.  Joyce  Smile

Welcome back, Michelle - h.  Hope your health issues are behind you.

Julie, I'm so glad you're able to go see your Grandma.  And, yes, your guys will do just fine.  Hugs, hon.

Oh, Michelle W, the poor little guy.  No wonder he couldn't sleep.  I won't know the results of my ultrasound until Friday, thanks for asking.

Good luck, Trish.  Hugs to you and your family.

What a life our Biddy lives.  Researching her way through Tuscany!!!

I have a feeling that boss of yours will be snapping you up as soon as he gets back, Cearha.

The start to my first day on the job didn't go so well.  The guys who are installing the windows said they'd be here around 8:30, so I figured if I got up at 7:30, I'd be dressed and fed before they came.  They arrived at 7:50 and promptly took over every room of my house.  I had taken my meds just before they arrived and then didn't eat for a half hour, so ended up very, very nauseous.  I had to put on my makeup with an audience and had to change into my dress pants in my DS's room, because that was the only place I wouldn't be walked in on.

By time I left for work, I was more than a little frazzled.  Plus, the foam insulation they use gives me a pounding headache.  But once I was at work, everything went smoothly.  The people seem nice (I can't remember everyone's name) and the work is similar enough to what I used to do that I had no trouble with it.  The time went very fast.

The windows should be all finished by tomorrow and I have a new appreciation for anyone who's lived through renos.  Joyce  Smile

Lots of hugs to your DD too.  What a tough time to break up, right before graduation.  Poor thing.  But you're right, all you can do is be there for her and concentrate on the positive stuff.

It's a gorgeous weekend, but I've barely seen outside.  Nothing like having a new job looming over your head to get you to do all the things that should have been done months ago.  I've hemmed seven new pairs of pants and all my poor little fingertips have numerous pin pricks.  Yowie.  I still have to iron them all, and we have to move furniture and take down all the window coverings so the new windows can be installed tomorrow.  Except for booking rooms, the trip is finally completely planned and organized.  Yay, what a chore that was, but I'm so excited.

Hope everyone else is getting to enjoy a lovely weekend, whether inside or out.  Joyce  Smile

On Ask Dee, that it's someone's birthday?

Happy Birthday, Dee!!  Have a great day.  Kiss  Smile

I knew there had to be news when I saw the number of posts.  So happy it's good news.  Yay, Biddy!!!!  Major congrats.  SmileCool

I hear you on the ultrasounds, Lori.  I had to have several for my pregnancies too and sometimes it was touch and go.  This one wasn't too bad, thank goodness.  I'll get the results May 2, so I'm thinking nothing serious was found.  Congrats to your DS.  Be sure to tell him how proud we are.

Amazing what you learn reading tour books.  The population of California is over 33 million.  Canada is the second largest country in the world and its population is also 33 million.  Either I live in an empty country or California is very crowded.  Surprised

I agree with Julie, Michelle W is superwoman.

Hope the back/shoulder is feeling better, Julie.

Good luck staying on track with the one story, Lisa.  And yay for the Jennaire set.

Please feel better, Linda, so you won't need surgery.  Hugs.

I'm having lunch with my old bosses today.  Looking forward to that.  Yesterday I offered myself as a sacrificial guinea pig at the hair training college.  I thought it would take an hour tops - I was there for two and a half hours.  I now sport the same haircut as I wore in grade twelve.  I think it was called a short shag back then.  Frown  It's not terrible for a free hair cut (the scalp massage was wonderful), but I'm thankful my hair grows fast.

Our new windows will be installed next week.  I start my new job next week.  I see that my dogs will be spending a lot of time in their crates.  I don't know what else I can do to keep them safe and out of the way.   Poor little things.

    Happy Hump day.  Joyce  Smile

For all it came down, it didn't even last the day.  It's sunny now, but still nippy.

Ah, I know what pong is.  They do that where my DS lived when he played football.  Lovely smell.  DH calls that truck the honey wagon.

Welcome Appaloosa and Amanda.  This is a great place to hang around.

Hugs on the sore back, Julie, I'm right there with you, but at least I don't have to pack around a one-year-old.  And big high fives on making Walden books.  Cool

Lisa, I've only pitched twice, at conferences, and as I got requests, I was keen to get right on it.  But most definitely every R I've ever had has sucked all the writing urge out of me.  And yes, the partial is in the mail.

I should have written this past snowy weekend, but I worked on mapping out our trip instead.  Took the entire weekend, but I think I know exactly where we're going now.  We'll spend our 30th anniversary in Reno.  I'm most looking forward to the day in San Francisco.

My DIL has been accepted to the University of Hawaii and to a law school in San Diego.  The San Diego one comes with an impressive scholarship.  They're still waiting to hear back from the Canadian schools so haven't made up their minds yet, but they'll be flying to San Diego in May for a meet and greet.  I'm trying hard to be the good, supportive mom here, but I really, really am not happy about them going that far away for so many years.  I hope a university closer to home comes up with something good.

I have to leave for my ultrasound shortly, so have to start drinking water now.  I'm a little apprehensive about how much it will hurt to have my bladder that full for so long.  Frown  Yes, call me a wuss.  I know I am.

Hope everyone is having a great start to the week.  Joyce  Smile

I can't believe we woke up to snow on the ground.  Surprised  And it's still coming down like all get out.   Cry  We haven't had snow for months.  Flowers are out.  Fruit trees are blooming.  This is not good.   Frown

I don't know what a pong is, Michelle, but if it's anything like what we're having, you're lucky it missed you.

What's going on with this crazy weather??  It's a good day to stay in the house and write.  Smile

So sorry to hear about the Jeep.  Transmissions are one of the most expensive things to repair.  Crossing my fingers for your DH.  Interviewing is such a frustrating process.  I really hope he gets this one.

Thanks for all the congrats on the job.  About time, eh?  I figured out that I applied for 18 jobs over the past 6 months.  I got 3 phone calls where we figured out the job wasn't for me.  I had 4 interviews, and only 2 of the 4 were suitable - and I got hired on the last one.  So, for whatever reason 11 of my resumes weren't even acknowledged.  I'm so glad that's behind me.

Cearha, I remember those driving days with my boys.  Very nerve-wracking.  Glad you all survived it.  Hope you get lots of writing done on the weekend, and that your credit card doesn't get too much of a workout.

Have fun at the conference, MB.

Shaz, maybe your head is where mine's been and until you clear up the uncertainty of what you want to do, you'll have trouble writing.  Hey, if you like cleaning instead, I have just the place for you.  Wink  Yes, I'll stick with Lost to the end, but I'm not crazy about its current direction.

Wouldn't you know it, I started printing my partial and my printer puked on me.  Yell  I hope the ink cartridge is low and not something else, I really like this printer (or I did  Frown).  DS was able to finish printing for me on his computer, but I noticed afterwards that the paper isn't quite the same colour and his print is darker.  This is really bothering me and I'm debating doing the entire thing over again.  Picky, picky, I know.  And of course I'm out of envelopes, so will have to run to the store after lunch.  First I have to try and figure out why my printer is printing funny and see if I can fix it, then decide whether to reprint or not...  Undecided

Have a great weekend.  Joyce  Smile
