I killed it! I killed the thread!
Hope this means everyone's getting those last minute edits done before nationals.
- 07/17/2008 - 11:33I thought about going, but the thought of returning to California after just a year back home... I'd rarther stay home and save up for DC next year. Some place I haven't been, or spent the past 18 years. Plus, one of my other cps is trying to make that one too. Although I will miss meeting Robyn Grady in SF since she was my cp before she sold her first to desire. But I'm hoping she'll be able to make the trip again next year!

Yep. Sighing a lot these days. Lol All three and you might check out her other books too. She's great.
Dee, Jill is a Blaze author like Sam Hunter. Very talented women we know/are!
- 07/17/2008 - 11:25I haven't gotten into any of the new series yet. I do have a dilemma though. I'm missing March and May releases of Diamonds Down Under!!!! I haven't found them and I missed buying them when they released in those months. I have the other four, but can't read any until I have ALL of them.

Holly- I never find your books on the shelf at Walmart anymore. Do you have any out right now that I might find at the larger book stores? Any new releases?
Our weather is beautiful here, now that we're done with tornadoes for the summer. I actually went home and at 7 last night took Sonny out for a ride with my sister on her arab, Lady. It was a pleasant ride, even in the light summer rain spurt that hit briefly. My niece and I rode in the rain before sis and I went out.
Hi Ann and Jennifer

Even though I got a registered Boxer from a friend, it was in a trade for a breed of dog we had that she'd wanted all her life, I looked through petfinder.com first to find an adoptable one first. I checked through all the local shelters, too. But this girl found me through an ad I had listed in Craigslists. It's a nationwide site for buying/selling/trading and free stuff. I don't normally go through breeders and didn't this time either. My dog's owner simply bred her dog to a male she had at the time and I was lucky to find her. But, one of the best and most lovable dogs I ever had was a doberman who had been abandoned and I found her at the local shelter. Sequoya was a good dog and just 3-4 mos old when we found her. Also, if they have been abused, don't let that keep you from trying them with your family. Sewquoya had been abused until she pee'd and slunk around everyine. Within a month she'd gained respect and love, but most of all trust of my dh and I. When he got home from work she'd race to the door to greet him. Her urinating stopped and she house broke herself to please us. Good luck finding the right one for your home, and your sons sound absolutely adorable!
Ooops I missed the post MB about your surgery! Please recover quickly.

What a wonderful surprise! I consider getting a day with no kids a vaca now that I watch both regularly all week and weekends.
Ann- I already have two gbabies, girls-3 y, 9 mo. This one makes number 3. And you're right. I do love it!
Prego DD gets in from Cali today, back from her 2-week vaca visiting family/friends there, so I have to pick her up at 2:20. I'm hoping to get a little web site work done inbetween running middle dd to work and getting youngest dd, plus keeping both babies-- which ought to make for a
funtrip to the airport!
(where's the hair-pulling emoticon when I need it?)-- and then in late afternoon niece asked if I'd pick her up at work too. <sigh> Just not my day today I guess. But I'm still going to try to get something done today regardless!

Slinking in to say HI and congrats to the Desire pitch finalists! Excited to see who it'll be.
Hi Misty! Nice to see you back here, but with good reason I hear. Good luck. I'm not targeting Desire anymore, but these nice folks still let me hang out and drool on their covers anyway. Lol
{{{{{{{{Bren}}}}}}}} Soon. Your day will come soon. You're too talented for them not to notice in time. OOOH, I know what it is! They're just not ready for the explosion it'll cause once they put you out there for all the world to read! Pssst- we're ready now!!!
Wayne, the Well of Wisdom! Thanks for the title line up!
My news? Oh, nothing book worthy- literally. No books in sight yet. But, another grandbaby is! Yep. My youngest dd told us Friday to expect another possibly in March 09. (Yes, Bren, check your email. I'm really happy about it.
)
Oh yeah! I just got Robbies new Presents (Modern Heat) and look forward to reading it! I know it'll be just as good as her Desire title.

Always a happy word from you.
Sounds like a wonderful time in Galveston. I've been there exactly once when I was @ 9 yo and my sister was in the hospital there. I vaguely remember seeing the beach/ocean everywhere! Even from the hosp balcony.
I'm sorry about your friend too. Now mid dd's bf just got a crotch rocket and has already 'wrecked' on it twice in a week. I keep praying he doesn't get her on it. DGD#1 needs her momma too much!
Yes the impending birth is a happy thing (now). Of course, I'd rather she were married first too... but again that is a moot point. At least her bf is a responsible guy and dh and I like him. He's also her gen mgr at her job. She tried to quit because of it and the owner refused to accept her resignation. She told them if they can't work together, they would never make it, so just get on with it and do their jobs. Lol Wait until she finds out they're pregnant!

If you watch for them, Gena Showalter and Jill Monroe do author talks every few weeks with different authors. All three of these ladies are in my RWA chapter. And wonderful(ly funny) too. Gena just did an interview on our local morning news cast to promote her three-book set she has out. You can check that out at her blog here:
http://www.genashowalter.blogspot.com . It's a fun site to visit.
