    Hey everyone!

I was so happy when I heard about this earlier today. One of my goals is to be pubbed with HQN, specifically in the Intrigue and Nocturne lines.

I'm glad Harlequin has opened up this new opportunity for shorter works!

I did have a few questions. Will this be an ongoing permanent addition to HQN? (I hope so).

And also, I notice the guidelines say for published authors it's a great addition to their mini-series but I was wondering is it okay if the "Bites" story is a start to a mini-series by an unpublished writer? I hope that makes sense!

    Thanks again! Smile

Shewolf, let me know what you think of Lord of the Deep. :-) I just finished that one and can't wait for Lord of the Dark to make it's debut later this year.

I'm currently catching up on some old Nocturnes, Intrigues and others that I grabbed up during the winter holidays.

    • Holiday with a Vampire
    • The Vampire Shrink
    • Blood Martyr
    • Classified Christmas

Thanks for the kind thoughts and huggs! You guys are awesome. :-)

I'm crossing my fingers, eyes, toes and everything for you Melissa and everyone else out on sub. Knock 'em out of the water!

Thanks Lisa! I was hoping it wasn't too late for sub goodies. hehe. Hmm I sent in a full to Silhouette Intrigue on November 20th and received my R on January 2nd so I'd say about a month and a half or so?

Lol Lauren. That's awesome! Rachel is my full name but I love the shortened version so much it kinda stuck. I wish I can take a read at your ms but I'm not quite familiar with the Presents line (I'm a Nocturne and Intrigue gal!) But everyone seems like good people here and I'm sure you'll get some great feedback! My turn for Huggs on the R's. Although it wasn't accepted, it sounds like the editor had some wonderful feedback for your work. Her no is just one step closer toward that yes!

Liz, I agree with Donna (congrats on your sub!!! Sending shiny, happy positive thoughts that she likes it!) and the other ladies. Although tempting (gosh, is it ever tempting) to send it out early, It's best if you finish the book and polish your ms first before making the rounds. You wanna knock 'em dead with your great prose and fab storytelling, why not show them the best you got in that first impression? Wink Plus, while you're waiting and writing more books, you'll be ready if they ever ask for more works from you.

I'm just a few pages away from completing a milestone in my writing that I never thought I'd make. I always tend to write shorter works and I didn't think I had it in me to write longer works. Well, I'm about a few thousand pages from writing my first 80k novel! And since this is my first draft I have a feeling it'll get longer once I explore more of the characters! Yay!

The sad part is I'm sick of this story and can't wait to put it away to separate myself before I heavily edit it. But its a great feeling. Makes me feel like I can accomplish anything. Smile

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

    Hey everyone :-)

I've been a lurker for a while and thought I'd finally hop into the waters after the new upgrade. I didn't know about this forum until recently which is a shame as it seems like a great support group while on submission. Unfortunately I got a reject on my Intrigue partial but that won't stop me! I'm working on something now that I think would be good for Nocturne.

I'll be visiting the boards more often to get to know everyone. I wish much fortune to everyone who is on submission.

    Happy reading and writing!
