    ~~~~Happy Birthday Jeannie!!!!~~~~
    Welcome back Kay!!!
  • 06/19/2008 - 09:59
    My kids tell me what an annoying mother I was when they were growing up because I would sing when I woke them up "Good morning, good morning, it's 'you beaut cereal' time, good morning, good morning to you." (Insert your fave name there). You remember those catchy cereal ads don't you? I can't imagine why my kids hated that so much, I just thought I was being a cheerful mum and making them feel happy. Well it's my dad's fault. He used to wake me by saying - "Rise and shine, the sun is shining and the birds are twittering in the trees!!!" (empahsis on twittering of course) True, he did that EVERY morning.
     Jeannie, I like Joyce. Sam, I am going to listen to your advice about filling our creativity channels with positives because you are the one with the Rita nomination, so I am listening baby!!
    You lot are SO funny. I was ROFL. That's another thing my kids hated - they tell me now they're grown. They hated when I laughed so much when they hurt themselves. There you go my secret is out. I am NOT that merciful mother with all the sympathy. I always, no, ALWAYS see the funny side. After I make sure there's nothing broken or no major damage that is.
    I am yet to figure out how to convey my sick sense of humor in my writing. Just can't do it!! So I guess I am not a real writer as I've been told by someone who wouldn't know anyway, that until you write like you actually speak your own thoughts you aren't writing true to yourself. I guess they meant you hadn't found your voice. What do you think?
    Aww it's too late in the evening for me to be thinking at all. After midnight here. So have a great day while I rest up.
    My DIL2B used to sing this gorgeous song every morning and we all cheered right up in the early hours. Not that it was ever that early!!! Embarassed Now they have their own place I sing it to the dog LOL he thinks it's just wonderful.
    Anyway the sun is setting here LOL  But I just wanted to be Holly!!! Just this once.
    Thanks so much for all the prayers and thoughts for the court case. It was a bit surprising in that the result is one week with mum and one week with dad. Well that works while the children are under school age and will only be in effect until Christmas - after which the oldest one will be off to school. Hmm maybe another battle then. Not sure. Anyway, for now, they have access to their gorgeous littlies and will now be able to spend an entire weekend with them every second week.
    I had a lovely day out with my Mum today. She has been a bit unwell so I was mum's taxi. haha I dashed off to a sale while she was at the hairdresser and got some amazing bargains in costume jewelry. Bought a tiny tiarra for my DIL2B for her wedding day, 2 pieces for my DDs 30th birthday, a watch for my hubby's b/day, a fascinator for my hair for the wedding, and heaps of other stuff for $114 that's just under $150US. I am right chuffed (said with British accent!!) LOL. Mother and I also had a nice takeaway lunch down by our river (after she complained about not wanting to get out of the car), she now brags to everyone that we had lunch by the river!!! Doh, can't win, well, I did really LOL. I spread all my bargains out on the picnic table and she drooled (no literally!!) over my purchases and grabbed a pair of pretty earings asking if she could give them to my DD for her b/day. Now she's excited coz I've saved her from worrying about what to buy her. Gotta love our aging mums. Wink Mine is 82.
    Well I am off now to prepare dinner with my one hand!!
    Hugs all round
    Popping in to say 'have a great weekend everyone'. We are already well into ours!! Lovely sunny skies but I have to admit there is a nip in the air and I am feeling chilly today.
    Wow you have had some fun and games (not) with your weather and dams etc. Ours is not normal either, except for today - its a typically beautiful Aussie winters day.
    Nice to see you Vieve and welcome to J Summer. I am a would-be Super Romance author too and there is heaps of info popping up here from time to time. That is, when we all stop chatting about everything else!! LOL Embarassed
     Could those of you who can or will/do - the court battle for full custody of those gorgeous (almost) grandchildren of mine is happening this coming week, so they will need lots of prayers please. If you can/do!!! Thank you. This is the full custody battle as opposed to the hearings they've had before. I'd like to say it's the last one, but do these things EVER end?
    I can't believe how lovely my home is looking. We never really had much time to enjoy some of our new renos before 'that lot' moved in. AND it is SO quiet!!! You all should come visit now. Whoever is left that is, as it seems many comings and goings on the loop here.
    I still have sore tendons in my wrist, not getting much better.
    Happy writing everyone. Kiss
    Regards Annie
    I can't imagine what it would be like to live with tornados, Ami. Those hurricanes Ellen Too, are like our cyclones and they are bad enough. Not that we have been affected by them lately, other than extra wind and rain. The bad weather here last week saw 10 inches in one day. It was coming down in blankets not sheets!! The creek in the parkland area at the back of our house came up so rapidly it was unbelievable. We are on a slight hill so no problems with it.
    Carrie, YahOOoo for the contract. Well done!
    Chelle you must be next heh girlfriend?? Your doggies sound lovely. Mine is an oversized rat. LOL he's a mini fox terrier and never did grow!! He loves being the center of attention again after the children moved out!! Because it is getting chilly he is wild about his rug again (a throw rug) he goes around and around trying to get it just right, some under him and some over him, then he twirls around so that all of him is covered. He usually ends up in the corner or over near a window, or under a chair. Very funny to watch. Laughing
    The wrist is still very painful might have to go off to my own not-so-bright doctor.
    Christyn I love the sound of your hero folder. Hmm Tongue out
    Kim, best to get that sucker dealt with. My mother was in her mid 70s when she got hers done. She is SO much better and she recovered remarkably well. All the best with it. We will keep you in our prayers.
    Better be off now. Hello - waving to all
    Hi girls,
    Thanks for all the drooling over my holiday pix. I am pleased to say the least and the scenery was stunning.
    Kim – a fixer upper sounds great. My family is always teasing me about my 'do-er uppers' every time they see an old ramshackled building - like even a few old bricks falling of an obscure foundation - they will say - there's a 'do-er upper for you Mum' - Man, they tease me alot. I have never had a major renovation but alway thought it was a good idea to capitalize.
    Well, after 2 weeks of pain, I finally took myself off to docs yesterday and I have tendonitis in my right/write wrist. So I have to take it easy until it is healed. Anti-inflam meds too. So I rattle when I walk now with all the other stuff I take!! Oh and the doc said it is common among 'young mums' I just laughed and said I was the young mum - at 50 - who'd taken over for the young mum!!
    Tash – hahaha been there done that!!! Enjoy the squirming and finding the right words!! But never fear, they will come along with the right moment.
    Kay welcome home. Let’s exchange holiday pix!! Haha Congrats on another great effort.
    Holly hope you get all that work done before vacation.
    I'm not really sure about the stick drive stuff, our terminology is so different. My DH has a 4X4 twin cab very comfy work vehicle. But I drive a rally car!!! Talk about low to the ground, my baby hugs the ground so close - it is beaut to drive. I am thinking of trading it in and getting a more practical car. My friends are berating me - 'at our age we don't have to be practical' they say!!!!
    Chelle, I love purple and 'teally green' (another thing family teases me about) - the same colours in my bedroom!!
    Thanks for the SR link, can't wait to check it out when I get home.
    I am off today for some long overdue pampering. If I can't vacuum and house-clean then what other choice do I have? - Oh yes I could write. Trust me, I need the pamper.Surprised
    Hugs to all
    Hi all,
    I am nearly as busy as you all, now there's a change. But just wanted to let you know that after some major dramas with my computer I have finally popped another slideshow up on my blog. You won't want to miss these!! Now, would I lie to you??
    Hugs all round,
    No no no, I just typed this great long comment and now I've lost it. If anyone finds it please click post.  Doh
    Anyway, just wanted to let you know the house is wonderful just with my own company and an occassional DH, and the family is so happy with their new house, job (which has promotions in the wind already for DS) and children and their mum all settling in remarkably well. Great news for me - and them.
    Thanks for all the congrats re our kidney bean whose parents call the little pet Razberry!!
    Thanks too, for the comments on the holiday pix. There are heaps more to come. That was just one 24 hour period!! The next section of the coastline was stunning (understatement), and I'll try to upload something else on weekend.
    Hugs to Carrie, Ronda and Kim.
    Writer Dusty Ellen I really appreciated what you said about revisions etc. I benefited heaps!! Trust me okay? Laughing
    Have a new washer to try out tomorrow but it's quite cyclonic outside so hope we don't get blown away. Oh sorry. I am married to the Builder who never finishes his home (in 27 years) Yell We have renovated stuff that was finished but there are bits that never have been done!!! Oh and he built it strong so it will never blow over. Like NEVER - unless Australia goes with it!!! If so, I might see y'all sooner than you think.
    Aussie Annie going to bed now.... nightKiss
    Tash and Holly, I surrender. I will spill my news. We are going to be grandparents - our first real one!! Due early new year we probably only have a kidney bean so far!! LOL All are very excited about it. Most unexpected too, but not unplanned as it turns out!!
    Oh and do pop by my blog to see pix of just one day on the fly/road trip to southern states of Australia. I will post more when I get time.  It was so beautiful just one session would never do. May need like 10 or eleven!!!
    Ami, cabins by lakes sound wonderful too.
    Hope you all had a lovely weekend.
    Regards Annie
    Hi there everyone, I'm back from holidays. We had a fantastic road trip and I took a HEAP of photos. The coastline revealed some amazing photo opportunities. I missed you all though.
    Big news from our house is that we are home alone - My DH and I. Yes all other 7 people have moved out!!!! Yaaay. My son got a great job in the city and they found a house that met all their needs - rather miraculously. All while we were away.
    My other son and DIL were only here for 3 weeks this time, but they have returned to their 'study' city inland.
    So finally, I get my life back!!!
    Anyway, I will check back in later. Just wanted to say 'Hi' and tell you SOME of my news. I have more but will reveal all later.
    Regards Annie Cool
