Location : Arklahoma, USA
Sex : Female
Interest : Reading, writing, 'rithmetic---no, wait a minute, cancel that last item! Actually, I have a writer's interest in almost everything. I love music (most of you know that I'm a working musician [playing with our church band while trying to finish my first album]). In addition to writing, I used to draw and paint a lot (including illustrations), and hope to resume that in the near future. Favorite reading categories: inspirational romance, romantic suspense, mysteries, how-to books, Christian helps, etc. (I also used to read a lot of science fiction and fantasy.) I love to travel, though I haven't done as much of that in the last few years as I did growing up. Oh, and for those of you who also miss the old smilies, here's a link to them: Smilies

- Me, too...05/15/2008 - 23:33
I know the Lord knows best, though, and maybe whoever got it really needed the encouragement. I've had so much encouragement from all of you that I don't really need it as much. Thanks to your building me up, I feel as though my novel will be ready to submit before too much longer.
I'm mainly disappointed that I won't get to meet you in person yet. Getting to meet Margaret and hear her speak on characterization was such a treat! However, I'm so thankful for these boards, where we can all share our hearts with each other. Maybe in '10 in Nashville..... I could perhaps arrange to visit some music publishers while I'm there....
Of course, DC next year would be nice, too.....
In the meantime, I'll be praying y'all all have a safe and productive trip to San Francisco. Maybe it'll cool down by summer. Couldn't believe the 90-some-odd degree temperatures it had the other day! Unreal! (We used to live in the Bay Area, and it never got that hot in the summer, even!) This is a strange weather year, anyway.
At least the rain stopped right as it was time for Mom's follow-up appointment about her hand. Prayer works.

I had a stormy birthday, but we actually just got in a little while ago from celebrating a few days late with a friend in town who took Mom and me out to lunch. As usual, I don't feel any older or any different, so it's all good. (Well, I do feel full.... LOL
)
That was good, actually, celebrating today, because today I found the e-mail that got buried in my inbox last April 30th telling me I won't be able to go to the RWA Nationals this year.... Oh, well. Romans 8:28. I had a very nice letter from Aronika Horne explaining that they had chosen someone else for the scholarship. I'll just see about saving up for next year, DV. (And I have to remember to cancel my reservations....) Sorry I won't get to see those of you who are going! Maybe next year, Lord willing.
In the meantime, I found a book at the library called Writing Romance by Vanessa Grant. It came with a CD, and it looks as though it will be very helpful. When I finish, I'll blog about it in the Challenge Blog.

So sorry to hear about the tire!
We've had tornado warnings (on my birthday, but no tornadoes here, PTL), storms, weather, more storms, etc. Today, just rain. That's all right. As long as it isn't storming, I don't mind rain.
I'm really close to meeting the goal of getting the Regency read by tomorrow...hope I make it! I should have said by May 30th or 31st, though...
Cheers to everyone who is meeting one's goals!

Yikes. I know what you all mean. It's insane. Makes me think of that verse in the Bible where it talks about buying a loaf of bread for a day's wages... Not quite that bad yet, but ouch!
Think I came in too late to congratulate everybody, but BIG congratulations to Biddy & Barbara on the requests! And anybody else I missed while I was away. (I think I may have missed some posts while I was off finishing a ms.)
Oh, and Trish: you WILL have a place to use those photos!!!!! And now you're prepared when you get The Call!

Bless your daughter's heart. I can empathize with how she feels. He was so young, though, he probably hadn't reached the age of accountability, even if he didn't know Jesus personally yet.
Lord, I lift up Cheryl's dd2 to You. Please comfort her in the loss of her precious young patient. Help her to understand what You have in mind. Show her how to "be angry and sin not." Give her grace and peace, Father. Please be with Cheryl and dd3 as they attempt to minister to her, especially since she doesn't want help right now. Be Lord of this situation, in Jesus' name. Amen.
Y'all please pray for us. I'm going to have to shut down the computer, as I hear thunder, and we're mentioned for being in the path of a severe thunderstorm, as well as under a tornado watch. Please pray for our safety! Thanks! Hugs all round!
Hope & Mom

Oh, my. Bless your heart!
Lord, we ask Your perfect will in this situation. We know that You can work good into any situation, because of Romans 8:28, even when it doesn't look like it. We trust You, Lord, to continue to be Provider for Beckie and her family, whether it is through insurance, or whatever You choose. Bless them, Father, and keep them going. Keep them focused on You, so that they can keep in perfect peace. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

I'm always glad to help where I can, if it's something I know.
And thank you for the happy birthday wishes! Aside from the tornado watch, I'm having a great birthday!

- 05/09/2008 - 23:25Lord, You see the end from the beginning, so I lift this up to You. Please keep people safe, and please let the firefighters get the flames out soon, in Jesus' name. Thank You! Amen.
